Sonya shrugged. "Most I've heard. Lately... what was it called? Rhapsody in Blue I think. I liked that when I heard it. Recent song."

Lou nodded knowingly. "Good song."

Sonya smiled. "It was different. I found it quite enjoyable."

"It's a good style. I find it a nice change from time to time." Lou looked around, the cafe seemed to be settling into a smaller number of people than initially.

Sonya glanced up as the waitress returned with their orders. He smiled at her as she set the plates down and turned back to Lou. "What sort of music do you usually play?"

"Jazz mostly. It's popular and so it's what sells. That's not to say I don't enjoy playing it." He smiled a bit at that. The freedom of improvization that Jazz allowed was something that the trumpet player liked.

Sonya nodded again, picking up his sandwich and starting to eat. "I like Jazz," he said after swallowing. "Perhaps I should come hear you play, when you're not at a disreputable place--I wouldn't care, but it probably wouldn't be good for my image to be at a illegal speakeasy."

Lou chuckled. "No, it probably wouldn't. If we get a gig at somewhere of good repute I'll let you know."

Sonya smiled at him from behind his coffee cup and returned to the sandwich. "Good." He glanced around the small cafe, considering the people there. "You ever go see films? A new film with Lon Chaney came out recently." Sonya's one passion outside of work was films--he may enjoy music, but there was just something about cinema.

Lou shrugged. "Sometimes, if I find the time. What film is Chaney in now?"

"Something of the Opera... Ghost? Phantom? Yes, Phantom of the Opera. It was good. Not the best, but good."

"Hm, interesting. That's based off of a book isn't it? Some Frenchman's writing?"

Sonya nodded. "Yeah. Some mystery pot-boiler. Made a decent film."

Finishing his sandwich, Sonya returned to his second cup of coffee, having ordered another when the first was finished.
