Deuteronomy slammed into his house, stumbling a little over a stool whose distance he had misjudged.

Munkustrap looked up from the cup of coffee he was sipping at while going over case files in the kitchen. His ears lay back, his father shouldn't have been home yet...should he? He checked his watch, muttering under his breath as he realized it was later than he thought. Great, he'd lost the case that day and he wasn't sure he could keep his mouth shut about what he thought tonight, but it would be neccessary to try at the least.

Old D made his way to the kitchen, muttering under his breath. He paused when he saw his son sitting at the table. "Wha' you doin?"

Working to pay off debts you accrued. "Finishing up some case work for the firm."

Deuteronomy considered his son, a frown pinching his face. "Where's the food?" he demanded after a few moments.

"The icebox. And there's some bread in the breadbox as well." Munkustrap didn't look up from his files, knowing how little there was in either of those locations.

Old D opened the said boxes and frowned at the amounts in there. "I thought you were working," he huffed.

"I am. I was going to pick up some groceries tomorrow. I was in court all day today." Besides I'm trying to find them somewhere I can afford them in addition to the bills and debts.

((Hm, I do wonder what a place like that could be... I'll shut up now)) Old D huffed again. "It's bad enough your useless brother doesn't do anything, but now you can't even do the simplest tasks."

"Oh, yes because I don't work hard enough to keep this family solvent now I must remember everything as well." Munkus muttered as he readjusted the reading glasses ont he bridge of his nose and continued to sort out the best form of defense for the latest client.
((Hm...I wonder...))

"What was that?" Old D snapped, whipping his head around the glare at his son.

((middle son))
"Nothing of import, sir. Just thoughts on this case." He lied smoothly.

((*headdesk* I know that too, what the hell brain...?))
Old D continued to glare at him, clearly not believing him, but eventually he nodded and turned back to their meager food offerings.

Munkustrap again seriously considered simply getting his own apartment, but really he couldn't bring himself to walk out again, though for the sake of his own sanity it wouldn't be a bad idea...No. He shook his head, not going to do that until he was sure the family--Tugger at least--was in a place where that would be a viable idea.

"Where the hell is that younger brother of yours?" Old D groused, sitting himself at the table with the food he had picked out.
