Tugger drew himself up to his full height, despite the fact that he was still swaying, and the buzzing in his ears indicating he was on the brink of passing out.
"You gave me hell and called it a life and made me believe that I could never do anything with it." He blinked a few times, as Deuteronomy swum in and out of his blurred vision between patches of darkness. "I don't even know why you had kittens," Tugger's voice was slurring now, the roaring in his ears getting louder, "and if Mac and Munk were so useless, why have a third? You aparrently 'gave me life' but are you sure I'm even your son?"
It had been a thought Tugger had been entertaining most of his cohrent life, supported by the fact that he looked the least like anyone in his family and something that was just a hunch, a subconcious feeling he didn't belong. He was on the verge of blacking out anyway, so he didn't really have much thought left to care about Deuteronomy's response to what he said, satisfied enough that he'd finally said it.

Shit. He did not just say that. Munkus spoke quickly, his younger brother was barely steady and likely wouldn't be able to take another blow from their father. "Dad, I'll talk to him, see if I can get this straightened out. I give you my word." Please, just leave.

Deuteronomy actually rocked back on his heels at Tugger's words, looking like the other had slapped him. "I am damn sure you are my son," he said finally, voice quiet, but with the edge of a growl in it. "And you had better be damn sure you know it too," he said, heading past the other and for the door. He was not drunk enough for this.

Tugger swayed a little more, his brain not really processing his father's words or the fact that he appeared to have avoided further injury, he leant back against the wall again for support, slowly sliding down it but luckily, not completely blacking out until he was almost sitting on the floor.

Old D slammed the door on his way out, rattling the whole house. And it damn well deserved it too.

((Not a double post, Meadow on VS's comp))
Munkus watched his father leave before moving over to his younger brother muttering under his breath about the disaster that this evening had become. He checked Tugger over, knowing he wasn't going to be able to get the other cat out of the room and up the stairs on his own, besides....it wasn't a good idea for Tugger to be /asleep/ at this point anyhow. He shook the larger cat's shoulder. "Tugger."

"Mmm... I'll be down in a minute.." Tugger had only been out cold momentarily, but it had been enough to confuse him.

"Tugger...." Munkus sighed. Great. Just bloody great.

Tugger sat up, rubbing the back of his head, he was feeling irritated though he couldn't remember why. "What?"

Munkus rocked back on his heels. "You passed out and I can't get you upstairs on my own."

"I did?" Tugger's head swam again as he tried to get to his feet, the memory of what happened suddenly coming back to him. "I did!" a low growl, "Where did he bugger off to? I wasn't finished!"

"Damn it, do you want to get us both killed?" Munkus snapped.

Tugger shrugged, "Well apparently I'm worthless either way, so what's the difference?" he didn't actually mean what he said, he knew he'd been foolish, but some part of him was still glad he'd done it and he was sick of Munkustrap always thinking he knew best. "Mebbe if someone had tried callin' him on it before?" Tugger's tone was slightly accusatory, in the back of his mind he wondered if he'd have had more support from Macavity.

The grey tabby's blue eyes narrowed. "I happen to like my skin in tact, and have no desire to get my neck broken by my father, thank you much. And when do you recommend calling him out on it, hm? When he has a glass bottle in paw?" His tone moved from sharp to derisive smoothly.

Tugger growled again, "You think you're so smart." he got up properly ignoring the fact that the room seemed to spin a little as he did so, "Yet you let him push you around an' control your life."
