Mungojerrie strolled down the block, he'd need to get a hold of Tugger later, but he figured it was unlikely for the Maine Coon to be at home and he wasn't sure where else to find him except the Fishbone. The torbie found himself wandering a bit aimlessly, considering the size of the project which currently was on his mind. His paw in his pocket ran over the edges of his latest carving as he considered what the cost of the materials would be. The shop he'd need to go by was another block down, he might as well check and see. Though really he wouldn't know exactly what he needed til he got a better look.

Clara meandered down the street, wishing her coat was a little thicker, or even that she could be wearing pants without looking too obviously different. She paused for a moment, considering a display in a shop of shoes, taking note of the height of the heels for sale and sighing. Damn, did they have to be getting higher? She shifted, crossing her arms at the display before glancing down the street and... she recognized that tom. Where did she...? Oh yes, down at the docks, he'd tried to keep her company.

Jerrie sidestepped a couple of gals, tipping his hat very slightly, if a bit absently. Depending on the work that got done he might just replace some of the floorboards...though the amount of noise that would create might not be worth it. He glanced ahead of him and paused at the sight of the vaguely familiar queen up the street. He was sure he'd met her, but she was out of the context he associated her with, whatever that context was...

Well, they had both seen each other, and he at least had that glimmer of recall in his eyes, so it would be rude to not at least say hello. She shifted slightly as he continued to approach. "Hello," she offered, trying to recall his name. It started with a J...

"Hey." He offered her a bit of a sheepish smile. "I'm sure we met, but I ain't sure I remember y' name?"

She smiled faintly. "Clara. It was done by the docks I believe. And it's only fair since all I can remember is that yours started with a J..."

Recognition finally dawned in his green eyes. "Right. Name's Jerrie. What brings y' up these parts, Clara?"

She shrugged slightly. "It's my day off, and honestly I can only play Chopin so much in a day before I start to feel a little crazy. What about you?"

"Killin' time by pricin' some materials for a job I got t'morrow." He considered a moment. "Chopin, huh?"

She rolled her shoulder. "I'd prefer more Mozart, but I mostly have Chopin music. I should look around today for music perhaps, it would be a useful way to kill time," she shrugged again. "What job are you looking at materials for?"

She nodded. "You usually do work like that then?" she asked, and could have winced when she realized he might well ask her the same question in reply. Hopefully he wouldn't.

He shrugged, nodding a bit. "Yeah, when I c'n get it, otherwise it's work like loadin' an' unloadin' trucks an' boats at th' docks." Jer paused a moment. "Y' said it was y' day off? What d'ya do?"

Clara took a breath and let it out. Damnit. Well, she had been seen with Gilbert Morgan before, and it wouldn't quite by lying. "I work for Gilbert Morgan," she replied.

His brows rose at that. "Well, that's quite th' name drop. Y' like y' job?"
