Munkus chuckled at that. "Fair enough. I've already given him a tidbit of what I think of it, but really there's not much we can do about it."

"Prob'ly why he did it that way," Tugger muttered, "he must've known we'd say no otherwise. I guess I should see him before anyway," he added "I got nothin' t'wear to it if I hafta' go, I don't like takin' more from him, but I guess it's okay f'him t'loan me somethin'."

Munkustrap nodded, momentarily considering his own wardrobe. He had something he was almost sure. He glanced at his watch again. "Well, I gotta get going."

Tugger nodded, though he looked far from happy. "Alright, have fun whatever you're doin' with this friend of yours."

Munkus hesitated, but nodded slightly. "Thanks. See you later."

"Mmm." Tugger agreed, trying not to hate his brother for having somewhere else to be and someone more interesting to spend Christmas with.

The silver tabby considered inviting his brother along, but set the thought aside and slipped from the room, slipping upstairs to see if he could find what he was thinking of. Once he had he came back down, pulled on his overcoat and grabbed his hat, exiting the house.

Tugger sighed as he sat back down at the table, maybe he should be relishing the day off, but rather he just felt lonely, he knew it was stupid, but he couldn't help but feel Munkustrap had abandoned him again.
And he'd agreed to go to Macavity's ball, great. He'd have to swallow his pride and ask his brother for a loan of a suit as well, on top of the mortgage payment present, this wasn't going to be easy. Still, Tugger thought, no time like the present, and you were supposed to see family on Christmas, right?
Tugger padded upstairs to fix his untidy fur and find something wamer and more presentable to go out in, then he came back downstairs and pulled on his coat, making for the front door. Tugger would probably come to regret this, he didn't even know if that snotty desk clerk would let him in to see Macavity without an appointment or even if the hotel would be open on Christmas day, but he had nothing better to do with his time.
So Tugger locked the front door behind him and headed off through the snow, deciding to walk downtown, a long walk, but if nothing else, it would give him time to cool his head before seeing his brother.
((Exit Tugger))
