Tugger thought for a moment, "Well I guess if a bit more money around means you're gonna start eatin' proper meals, then mebbe Mac's got a point." he said finally, "It's still too much though."

Tugger frowned at his brother for a minute, arms crossed over his chest, before finally nodding. "Good."
At least Munkustrap had momentarily distracted Tugger from Macavity's present, and all the better if he had found a small degree of justification for it, though he still wasn't convinced he could swallow his pride enough to be accepting of a gift that extravorgant. There was still the question of the New Year's ball as well.

Munkus glanced at his watch, considering if there was anything he needed to do before he went to meet his girlfriend. "So, do you think you're coming on New Year's or not?"

Tugger was slightly taken aback by the question, he'd forgotten the ball had been the original topic of conversation. He rubbed the back of his neck, giving it some thought, "Y'know it ain't my kinda' event. S'gonna' be full of cats who are y'know, society posh an' important."

Tugger sighed, "He did seem pretty excited about it. I know he's probably more concerned with other things, but I guess if it means somethin' t'Mac." a pause, "But if he asks me about the mortgage payment, I'm gonna have a hard time doin' anythin' other than tellin' him what I think." he admitted.
