Munkustrap looked at his bedside clock as he straightened his green tie. It was late enough that his father had probably already left, but early enough that he couldn't hope to see Electra for a few more hours. He bit his lip slightly, wondering if he oughtn't go and see if he could find her something for Christmas. He probably should. What he didn't know, but... He sighed, running a comb through his hair to make sure it lay where it needed to before slipping out of his room and down the stairs, shrugging on his suitcoat as he descended.

Tugger was sat at the kitchen table, in undershirt and slacks, a cup of coffee in one paw. He wasn't working today, figuring Griddlebone would have likely closed up for the holiday and for the same reason he could likely expect no other work at the docks. He'd long ago learnt there was little to celebrate in the Hollister household at Christmas though, this year was no different, so he'd decided to just make the most of a day off instead.

Munkustrap entered, his brows rising at seeing his younger brother up before him. "Morning, Tugger." The silver tabby moved over to pour himself some coffee and see if he could find something to eat.

Tugger hadn't been up long, as still ruffled headfur and mane indicated, but for some reason, his body had betrayed him in his intention to sleep in and he'd found himself getting up and coming downstairs.
"Morning Munk," a pause, "Merry Christmas I guess." Tugger looked his brother over for a second, "You ain't in court today are you?"

"Indeed, Merry Christmas." He finally found something to eat, turning. "Hm? Oh, no I don't have court today."

Tugger arched an eyebrow at his brother, "Work then? Didn't think anyplace was doin' business today."

Munkus shook his head slightly. "No, I'm...meeting with a friend later today."

The eyebrow arched a lot higher at that, the other coming up to join it, "Oh? Anyone important?"

Munkus hesitated a moment, considering whether to answer that or not. He nodded very slightly. "A good friend. Doesn't have much to do on Christmas either."

Tugger nodded, "Anyone I know...?" he let the question hang, almost sure there was more to this than his brother was letting on.

Munkus shook his head. "No I don't believe so." He finally sat down at the table to eat his...brunch he supposed. "Did you see the invitation to Macavity's ball?" He asked, changing the subject.

"No, but Mac mentioned it." Tugger pulled a face, if Munkustrap had been looking to distract Tugger, he'd found a good topic. "Are you going?"

"I told him I was, so yes. You?"

Tugger pulled another face, "He wants me to, but I dunno." he bit his lip, "I said I'd see if you were first." Tugger was somewhat surprised that his brother was going, "Didn't think you'd've bin' that keen." he admitted.

Munkus sighed slightly. "Honestly, I'm not, but I don't see how I can not go. Not after my trip to the bank yesterday."
