Griddlebone looked around the restaurant. She knew Mac was going to be busy with work for a few more hours, but she needed something to eat. Her gaze sweeping around the restaurant she made her way over to the table he usually used and settled at it, placing her order quietly with the waiter who appeared seemingly from thin air. She still wasn't entirely certain what to make of her husband's moods over the past week and was hoping that she would be able to figure it out eventually.

Entering and trying to smooth down his headfur as he went, Mistoffelees glanced around. It was a busy enough place, being just the lunch hour and it would do him well to be seen in such a prestigious restaurant--and also possibly give him an excuse for being there. Which wasn't going to do him much good if he couldn't find a table...

The white queen looked up, spotting the small tom and vaguely recognizing him as someone who was in the hotel quite a lot. She signaled the host and murmured her permission for him to show the black tom to her table.

That got a raised eyebrow from Mistoffelees when the host pointed out the table before nodded, weaving his way through the room. "This is Macavity's usual table, isn't it?" he asked, offering the queen sitting there a smile.

She nodded slightly, returning the smile, "Yes, he's not going to make it to lunch today though, so far as I can tell."

He smiled, considering the table for a moment. He felt odd sitting there without Macavity, so he hesitated a moment before sliding into it. "Are you Griddlebone then?" he asked softly, hoping he was guessing right.

She smiled, nodding at that, "I believe you have the advantage on me, sir."

"Mistoffelees Quaxo," he murmured, holding a paw out. "And it's not that much of an advantage."

Grids shook the offered paw, "Still. What brings you here today, Mr. Quaxo?"

"Food, mostly," he replied. "Companionship of a non-lawyer or reporter sort would also not go amiss."

That earned a faint laugh, "I hear you there. Company that one isn't quite used to can be a good change."

"It certainly makes life more interesting," he said, inclining his head. "Keeps you from only moving in a routine."

"On the other paw, sometimes those we interact with all the time change things up and throw the routine to pieces."

That got an arched brow from the smaller tom and he smiled faintly. "Alright, that's true enough too. Dare I ask who keeps shaking things up."

She smiled, though it didn't reach her eyes, "I'm married to Macavity Hollister, who do you think?"
