"We have enough for food..." Fayst trailed on weakly.

Coricopat suppressed a derisive snort at that, "Wonderful, so you won't starve to death. You're still without a roof in the middle of February."

Mistoffelees looked between them. "And let me guess, neither of you is inclined to accept charity? At the very least, no more than you already have?"
((He's really not inclined to offer them a job. The idea is probably gonna have to be brought up by someone else))

At this Slois piped up. "No, this here," He gestured around the hospital room. "Is enough charity."
"We can't possibly accept anymore money for you unless we earned it fairly," Fayst added in.
Slois gave his brother a small nod. "What we really need is a job."
((That good?))

The mottled tom's ears flickered back at that, "Then see about finding one." If they were suggesting what he thought they were suggesting he was going to be more than a little displeased.

One of Mistoffelees' ears tilted back. "Do you have anywhere you might look?"

Slois hesitated at that. "I don't know," He said and his hand tugged down his sleeve on his left arm. "You could help us find some?" He suggested weakly. "Do you know of anywhere that needs employment?"

Coricopat pursed his lips, thinking of several places, but none he would want those two at.

Tail twitching, Mistoffelees took a deep breathe. "I don't really a keep a close eye on the job market he replied." He might in fact have several, especially after he fired his entire staff. But on the other hand, he could not bring himself to offer a job flat out to two cats that pulled a knife and gun on him. The idea seemed dangerous and stupid and even though he wanted to help him he wasn't sure how.

Slois sighed and mumbled something under his breath, brows furrowed in frustration. He knew how much of a hole he and his brother were currently in, but he was still reluctant to press any burdens.
Fayst's ears kind of fell at the words Mistoffelees said. "Oh, well," He tried to begin optimistically. "We can always find something. Someone could always use a hand in a city, right?"
"Sure," Slois muttered far less optimistically. "Really depends on what kind of hand."

"There are people at the docks who are always looking for workers," Coricopat murmured, ears still tilted back.

Mistoffelees glanced over at his lover, eyes narrowed. "If you're not going to be helpful," he said, voice dropping slightly. He looked back at the brother's. "Is there any skills you have?"

"I can load a revolver in under five seconds," Fayst said but then gave a small flicker of his tail. "But that's hardly the skill you would be looking for."
"We're both fast on our feet," Slois supplied, skirting around his own fighting skills. "I'm also good at catching things..."
"And despite what you may believe," Fayst gave the smallest fluttering glance in Coricopat's direction. "We can both read and write." Illiteracy was far from being the normal, but it coudln't hurt to add that they weren't part of the uneducated.
"Fayst also has some pretty good balance," Slois said somewhat thoughtfully, still trying to dig up some of their better qualities. "He could stack up to three boxes full of- well nevermind that part- but when on little gopher missions he was pretty good."
Fayst frowned at his brother; they needed to display their skills in order to get something resembling a good job. Bragging was hardly going to get them anywhere...

Coricopat glanced at Mistoffelees, frowning, "How was that not being helpful? What they just described is exactly what is constantly being looked for down there to work with unloading cargo and the like."

"I'm not sure how helpful it is considering the state of the docks," Mistoffelees replied.
