Introductions to Things Criminal ((1922))

Tantomile stepped into the lift, nodding her thanks to Doc, "Oh yes, though I only run that a few days a week, the rest of the time," she smirked slighlty, "I work for the state."

[Meadowlark]

The Russian joined her, sending the lift down to the basement. He grimaced slightly at the mention of the state, but nodded. "I see. What brings you to work here?"

[amanika]

"Ah, my motivations for working here or the reason I've been asked to work here and by whom?" Tantomile asked, "Because they're rather different."

[Meadowlark]

"Both I suppose, but your motivations first and foremost, since you had to know you'd be working with your brother."

[amanika]

"Ah well Doctor," Tantomile offered him another smile, "I'm sure you'll forgive me for saying my motivations are my own."

[Meadowlark]

He chuckled "Fair enough. Who asked you here and why, if I may be so bold?"

[amanika]

Tantomile gave a little laugh, "Ah now that you're most welcome to ask, the answer might even amuse you. You see, the invitation came from Coricopat."

[Meadowlark]

Doc looked at her in surprise. "And you accepted the offer?" The lift doors opened and he stepped out into the basement.

[amanika]

"Well," Tantomile smirked, "I don't think he enjoyed asking me, especially not having to concede that I was in fact the best cat in this city for the position he'd been asked to fill. As I said, I have my own reasons for accepting, but perhaps that sheds a little light for you, among other things, of course, the opportunity was just too amusing to pass up."

[Meadowlark]

Doc chuckled. "Yes, I can see how it would be. Well, now that we're in the basement. If you drive you can pick your car up here, or you can return tot he main floor via the stairs over there." He nodded to a staircase across the room.

[amanika]

Tantomile nodded, "I think it'll be an interesting experience if nothing else, we'll have to wait and see." She turned towards the stairs, "Thank you again for your help, I hope being saddled with me wasn't as much of a chore as my brother seems to believe."

[Meadowlark]

"It most certainly was not. I found it enlightening to discovr his family dislikes him as much as those of us here. But now I do need to return to the hospital. Good day to you, Tantomile."

[amanika]

Tantomile gave Doc another smile, "I must say I'm very glad not to share his opinion of you," she offered her hand again, "it's been a pleasure meeting you, and thank you for all your help. I hope we'll have the opportunity to work together sometime."

[Meadowlark]

Doc shook her hand again. "I look forward to it. Take care." He tipped his hat to her as he went to locate somecat headed toward Felidae General.

Tantomile gave Doc another smile before taking the stairs that would hopefully bring her back to the main lobby. Things were not going to be dull here, that was for sure.
