Whistling to himself, Philip strolled through the hallway as the late afternoon sun filtered through the windows. He paused at the door to his brother's office, knocked, and pushed it open.

Charles looked up, speaking as though it was the client he was waiting for, "Yes? Mr.Q--Oh, Philip, it's you."

"Sorry to disappoint," Philip said with a grin, sauntering in. "Are you supposed to be meeting with a client?"

His older brother sighed, running a paw over his headfur, "I was supposed to meet with a client an hour ago. It appears that he's not going to be coming. What brings you here, Philip?"

"What, I can't come visit?" Philip asked, picking up a paperweight off the desk and playing with it. "Who was your client. There's not many in this city who's name starts with a Q after all."

"You never just come to visit, and it's none of your business who my client is," Charles folded up his files and returned them to the bottom drawer of his desk.

"I do too come to just visit and business or not now my curiosity is all up and excited. Q, Q, Q... surely you aren't dealing with our newest socialite in town?" Philip asked, still playing with the paperweight.

"I don't know, am I? I don't keep up with the gossip, and rarely with the news Philip," that was a lie. He bought a paper every day, usually reading the gossip section first due to the byline under the article titles.

Philip couldn't help but roll his eyes, adjusting his hat slightly. "Oh come on, Charles. Mistoffelees Quaxo, the heir of Jones and the dark horse of the social scene."

"Oh, right. It does seem I've heard that name of late," Charles nodded, turning his attention to a blank piece of paper.

"Well?" Philip asked. "Is he the one who stood you up? He must be quite the rich snob."

"If I see anything about our conversation in the paper I will skin you, Philip, you know that right? I don't count as a source."

Philip held up his paws. "Have I ever used you for a source?" he asked. Of course, his brother usually didn't have such hot news topics as clients, but he wanted to know for his own personal information as well.

"Yes, it was Mr. Quaxo who forgot to call today. No, he's not actually much of a snob." Charles half-shrugged, he liked the client well enough having met him once or twice before.

"Isn't he the second richest cat in town?" Philip asked. "How could he not be a snob?"
