"I'll talk to 'Straps. Maybe come back and see you at the end of the week or something?" Tugger suggested, though if it was the only place he could get work, he might be returning more frequently than that anyway.

"Sounds like a plan to me." She moved over to work on cleaing some of the tables.

Tugger was steadily working his way across the floor with the mop, though perhaps not as fast as he might have been if he hadn't been talking so much. He much preferred this to working in silcence though, it was much more enjoyable and Griddlebone was good company.
"So what's this place like in full swing?"

"Well, we've got a band, not a good one, but most of the fellas who come here don't mind. You hear a lot of language that some might find...offensive. Crowded, it's the closest place for most of the men on the boats to get their drink. Not too many gals, don't care for their type coming in here unescorted, if the toms want that they can go down the street." Her tone was almost sharp on that point, "But all told, pretty lively. Busy too."

Tugger nodded, his active imaginination quickly filling the room with people and noise, "Sounds interesting, I might have to stick my head in one night."

Griddlebone smiled at that. "I look forward to it."

Tugger smiled and went back to clening in silence for a while, idly contemplating the fact that this had probably been the most interesting day he'd spent in a while, despite the amount of physical labour. He'd never tell Munkustrap that though.

Griddlebone turned back to cleaning the tables, frowning at the number of burned marks on them. There were ashtrays so why the entire top of some of the tables were scarred with obvious cigarette marks she couldn't say. Ah, well--it wasn't like she was running a place at the Ritz.

((Time skipping this one a little bit))
Jerrie muttered something under his breath regarding his work with the PI as he rapped sharply on the door to the Fishbone before entering. "Hey, Tug. You ready to go?"
"Well, hello to you too, Mungojerrie."
"Sorry, milady. Hope he wasn't too much trouble." Jerrie grinned but it didn't quite meet his eyes. his mood tended to be sour after dealing with his uptown client.

((Hope this sounds like a suitable task for Tug to be doing, figured he might have finished the floor by now!))
Tugger was in the bar's back room when Mungo arrived, elbow deep in soapy water, though he came out at the sound of voices, shaking the suds off his hands and unintentionally flicking a smattering of wet across the bartop. He grinned at Mungo, not picking up on the other tomcat's mood.
"Ah well, you're right to ask the Lady," he turned to Griddlebone, "am I up to your standards?" Tugger was mostly joking, but found himself caring about the reply slightly more than he'd admit to.

She smiled at him. "You are indeed. Come back if you ever need work. There's always things to be done around here."
"Good to hear. If you're done, Tug, I'd like t' get home."

Tugger's grin widened just a little, at Griddlbone's reply, though if questioned about it, he'd most definitley deny it later, he was still wonderfully oblivious to Mungo's shortness and tone. He looked back to Griddlebone again, his grin becoming a little sheepish, "There still some glasses and stuff I didn't get around to..." Tug might have been trying hard, but he wasn't the fastest worker, he was far too easily driven to distraction.

The Lady waved her paw at that. "I can finish those. You two get going. See you both 'round."

Tugger took Griddlebone's hand in his and lightly kissed it, messing around as usual, "Lady, it's been a pleasure."

"Why thank you, kind sir, the pleasure was mine." She laughed in response.
Jerrie rolled his eyes. "C'mon, Romeo. Time we were headed home."
