Tugger got on with things, grateful that actually, even if it wasn't something fixed, to find that finding a way to earn some money around here was not as difficult as it might have been, perhaps a job was actually in his grasp after all.
He wanted to keep his word to Mungo as well, and so he made sure to pull his weight that morning. It was hot work, or at least Tugger found it so; it had been a while since he'd done such manual labour, and his mane didn't help, by noon he had stripped down to just slacks and braces, and there were beads of sweat glistening in his dark fur.

Jerrie straightened, running a paw across his brow as their employer for the morning approached, checking over the work done. He paid them and informed them that if they needed work when he was in port to come look him up, they'd done well. The torbie offered a smile to the older cat as he left and then turned to Tugger "If y' set we c'n go see if Griddlebone has any work available, mebbe a bite t' eat stashed away. She's usually pretty reasonable when it comes t' that sortta stuff."

Tugger nodded, slinging his clothing over one arm, "Something to eat sounds like the best idea I heard all day, and I confess I'm intrigued to meet this lady of yours." a pause, "You reckon this moning went alright?" his tail curled slightly at his own lack of pride in seeking approval for his work, but the concept of a job well done was relatively new to Tugger.

Jerrie nodded as he picked up his overcoat, rolling the sleeves of his shirt back down. "Yeah, I think it went well. He seemed impressed, an' I admit y' impressed me too. Y' earned y' pay."

Tugger grinned, genuinly gratified at Mungojerrie's words "Thanks, didn't wanna let you down since you vouched for me and all. I know one thing though, I'll sleep like a log tonight."

The torbie chuckled. "And the day's barely half done. C'mon." He turned, heading in the direction of The Fishbone.

Tugger gave a mock groan, "Bite to eat first?" he asked hopefully, "What little breakfast I had seems like far too long ago."
