"Jeez, it's gonna take me a long time to get used to this." Tugger frowned slightly at Mungo, "D'you ever sleep?"

The trobie grinned slightly. "Sometimes, when I find th' need and time to. Otherwise I run on caffine." He chuckled. "Seriously though I'll usually take a couple hours late at night, or I'll sleep right after I get home for a bit."

Tugger shook his head, "An' here's me used to late nights but sleeping all morning, and sometimes a nap later on if I feel like it." No doubt about it, if Tugger got a permernant job out of this, the change to routine was going to be a huge shock to his system. "I don't know how you do it."

"Been doin' it for years, so it's a habit. Gotta have a cover for illegal activities, and it's easier to avoid cats around home if y' in late an' out early."

Tugger nodded, "Good point, makes me glad there's no been no one sniffing around our little operation now, given I'm the one who's in most of the time."

"Yeah, 'cept the still's in my basement, so I'd rather they go sniffin' round your place." The southerner drawled.

Tugger chuckled, "Fair point, it's not like there's any hard evidence at ours." he was silent for a moment, "So what do you do all day anyway? Better find out what I'm letting myself in for."

"Well, t'day I've got work helpin' get some stuff unloaded down at th' docks. Can usually find some work like that down there. If there isn't much I'll check at the Fishbone, they've got stuff as needs doin' even when they ain' open. If neither of those is turnin' up much I've got a couple back-ups but I wouldn' wish those jobs on m' worst enemy." His tone was light but thee was a sardonic ring to the last bit.

Tugger nodded, he'd not realised things were quite so tight for Mungo as all that, "I don't wanna muscle in on you territory if there's not enough to keep you going."

"Cat, no, it ain't that. It's just easier for me t' do this when there's multiple options. Ain't likely to get a job elsewhere, ain't really lookin'. Most places have swing shifts and what with that thing in th' basement needin' t' be worked I can't take that time. These rotate, but it's pretty good all told, and they can always use an extra paw." Things were tight, but Jerrie tended to tell himself they were tighter than they were so he and his sister could be sure that there was enough when it came time to pay the bills and the like--maybe even have a bit left over.

Tugger nodded, taking this in "Long as you're sure, if not I'm sure there are other places downtown I can look. But if you're sure it ain't a problem."

"Course I'm sure, wouldn't offer it if I wasn't. More work than one cat can do on 'is own, anyhow. Best place to find quick work is down at the docks." Jerrie confided.

Tugger nodded again, satisfied that he wasn't putting Mungo out. "Well still, I owe you for this."

The torbie chuckled. "You bet you do. This and a few other things, but don't worry 'bout it right now. Just try t' keep y' word t' any bosses y' get, it's my name on th' line too r'member."

Tugger nodded, that hadn't crossed his mind before, so it was probably a good thing Mungo had mentioned it, his brother's words from yesterday were ringing in his mind.
You mean expecting you to be where you say you’ll be and do what you say you’ll do?
"You got it." Tugger didn't trust himself to say anything else, he'd just have to do his best to keep his word to Mungo.
