Griddlebone stepped off of the lift, the cat running the lift looked exhausted, but honestly she was in enough of a mood she didn't care right now. She swept toward the penthouse door. What was she even doing here, much less at three in the morning? She was just so irate. She should have calmed down before coming, but...
The white queen paused outside the door and smoothed her skirt down, taking a calming breath before tapping lightly on the door. She was here to see him, not worry about work and the whores from up the street.

For once at three am Mac had actually been asleep. He started awake abruptly at the knock, pulling an undershirt on quickly and attempting to smooth his hair down as he rolled out of bed at the rap. Blinking a bit owlishly, he opened the door. "Griddlebone...? Somethin' wron'?"

She looked him over, her eyes widening very slightly. "Oh, God, I should have called. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you."

He shrugged. "Eh, took an early night for once," he said, glancing down at the watch he'd worn to bed. Apparently he'd needed said early night if he was forgetting to take his watch off. "Was about time ta wake up anyway. Now, somethin' the matter?" he asked, looking her over again.

She hesitated, but shook her head. "Not really. Wanted to see you, didn't even think about the time.."

"Well, come on in then," he said, stepping back from the door and holding it open to her. "I'm fine with whatever time you feel like stoppin' by."

She stepped inside, shrugging off her coat. "Still, I"ll try to remember to call ahead next time."

He nodded, closing and locking the door. "It might be useful, yeah," he said softly. "Usually awake though." Just, between everything he had been unnaturally tired that day. "So then, how are things goin' for you?" he asked, leaning against the closed door.

"I..." She shrugged. "Well enough. You?"

Mac shrugged. "Well enough, I 'uess. Things have been hectic as usual. At least Cor's gotten himself back ta work, though perhaps more of an emotional wreck than usual."

She cocked her head on one side. "Oh?"

Mac shrugged. "He... tends not ta handle emotional attachment well. Especially when it 'ets shoved in his face. Which is has been. It's been interestin' ta try and figure out what ta do with him in such cases." He shrugged again. "But other than that pretty normal recently."

Griddlebone nodded slightly. "Well, it should sort itself out, right?"

"Should," Mac replied, eyes settling on her. "One way or another." Pausing, he looked her over before pushing himself off the door and walking over to her, smoothing a strand of hair back. "Sure everythings alright? You look a little shaken."

She offered him a faint smile. "I'm still calming down from having one of the whores from up the street come into the Fishbone tonight. If I've told them once I've told them a hundred times to ply their trade elsewhere."
