Maggie laughed. "And I'm sure you won't find this doctor, since this doctor just so happens to be a chef, and my Uncle."

"Damn," Philip remarked. "Having a good doctor around would have been so useful. Chef you say?" He paused, remembering her name in conjunction to a chef and he blanched for a moment. "Surely you're not related to that white mountain of a cat?"

Maggie blinked for a moment, confused. "How did you...Oh! You're the journalist who interviewed Uncle Ox!"

He blinked and nodded, remembering how obvious his hat made his profession. "Yes, that was me." He looked her over again, considering her in light of that mountain of fuzz. "Interesting uncle you have there..."

Maggie's latest grin was more than a bit sheepish. "Uncle Ox certainly has his moments. You should see when both of them get into a row. I love them dearly, but even I have limited success in keeping them both in line. And they are both grown toms so I can't always tell them what to do... They both say I take after my mother and then they thank God for small favors." Her voice drifted off and her eyes turned thoughtful.

"Both?" Philip asked. "Oh, right, there are the two brothers right? Ox and Fred?" He shifted from where he was leaning against the counter, still grinning at her. "And it sounds like quite the job, keeping two full grown cats like that in line."

Her smile returned, bright and full, as though nary a cloud had passed it over. "Like two storms, joined in battle. Thunder roars, wind howls, and the world shakes for fear. But like all things, this too shall pass. The sun returns and the crisp smell of newly fallen rain coats the world in sparkling diamonds of dew." Her voice had turned reverent as she had spoken and when she finished, she blushed faintly. What am I thinking?! Here I am, spouting my own words like a fool to a complete stranger! He must think me an idiot... And why do I care so much what he thinks!?

He arched a brow, still smiling though. "I must admit, I'm not actually familiar with that poem..."

The blush deepened but she straightened her shoulders and nodded, mimicking a formal bow. "Mine own creation, good sir. How doth thee find it? Good or ill?"

He blinked, actually rather surprised by that. Going back over the poem in his mind quickly, he smiled. "It was quite entertaining. Some meter work and it should be fine."

Maggie suppressed the urge to purr with pleasure, and allowed her smile to show her gratitude. "Thank you, Mr. Hunt. I shall follow your suggestion."

He returned the smile. "The imagery is rather excellent so far though, which is usually the most important part of a poem, no?"

She really could not seem to stop smiling around this tom, though fortunately most of the blush had gone, leaving behind a soft pink tint high on her cheeks. "I'm flattered, Mr. Hunt, since imagery truly is a vital part of poetry in my mind. I can only hope that every piece I manage to produce achieves such glowing praise." From you.

He grinned, still leaning against the counter. "Well, if your other pieces are quite as good, then that should hardly be a problem now should it?"

Maggie laughed then. "I sincerely doubt that all of my trifles are quite as good as you would believe, though it is certainly a lovely thought."
