"The Chrysalis. There's plenty of others around, some fancier, some a bit more risqué but I've always had a fondness for that one."

Maggie smiled. "Familiarity can be a definite good thing." She looked at her basket and chuckled. "Well, I think we've managed to completely fulfill the requirements of my list! Well, except for one thing..." She gave a longing glance towards the collection of hats.

"The hat?" Electra said with a grin, stepping toward the front of the store again. "Just the way then honey."

Maggie giggled and almost ran up to the hats, bouncing on her heels like a little girl. Tapping her chin for a moment, she regarded the selection and then pointed out a pale pink cloche with a bright yellow, fabric daisy on the deep forest green ribbon. "May I try that one on?"

"Most certainly, honey," Electra replied as the door opened. She turned to glance the new comer over. "Can I help you honey?"
"I do hope so," Philip replied, tipping his fedora to the pair of queens. "It would be helpful to have food sometimes after all. Eating, I hear, is very good for you."

Maggie's face was completely serious as she tried on the hat, though her eyes twinkled with merriment. "Oh, I don't know, sir. I've been able to live on poetry for weeks with nary a bite to eat. Most of what I read tends to fall in the fluffy pastry variety." She turned from the mirror where she had been admiring the hat and nearly froze. What, are all the toms in this city handsome?!?

Philip arched his brows at that, and grinned. "I grant thou wert not married to my Muse, And therefore mayst without attaint o'erlook, The dedicated words which writers use, Of their fair subject, blessing every book," he said with a grin. "Poetry of that sort perhaps? Much as it sustains the mind, I find it does not do much for a growling stomach protesting it's lack of nourishment," he continued, leaning his hip against the counter.
Electra raised a brow at that, smiling faintly. "And does your unnourished stomach happen to have a list of what it would like, honey?" she asked.
"Indeed it does," Philip replied, shooting her a grin.
"Give it here then," Electra said, holding out a paw. "And I'll go find it for you then." She shot Maggie a look, with a slightly arched brow.

Maggie returned the look with a raised eyebrow of her own and a slowly growing grin. She turned back to the tom and thought for a moment. She began to speak slowly, gaining momentum and feeling in her recitation. "The eye - cannot but choose to see; We cannot bid the ear be still; Our bodies feel, where'er they be, Against or with our will. 'Nor less I deem that there are Powers, Which of themselves our minds impress; That we can feed this mind of ours, In a wise passiveness."

Philip arched a brow slightly at that, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning his hip against the counter. "Wordsworth, hm? I would have expected Dickinson I think."

((I see what you did there. XD ))
Maggie smiled tentatively. "I don't actually know that much Dickenson, much to my regret, though my uncle Fred keeps trying to find me a pocket collection so I can study more of her works, Mr..."

As her smile grew wider, Maggie shook the proffered paw. "Maggie Howe. It's nice to meet you, Mr. Hunt."

"Nice to meet you as well," he murmured, shaking the paw before letting it drop. "So what brings a gal like you around here?"

Maggie gestured to the store. "Grocery shopping. And an indulgence, on the doctor's orders. He said I was to do something fun on my extended lunch break."

"The doctor, eh?" Philip asked with a grin. "I don't recall there being and such nice sounding doctors in Felidae..."
