The cat offered her a smile in reply. "No, I haven't. What are you doing these days?"

"Two things really," Tantomile put her work into a simple form, "I run my own practice as a psychiatrist and work for the state corrections board on witness and criminal profiling." she smiled at him, genuinly proud to be telling him what she'd achieved rather than just boasting. "And what about you?"

His brows rose. "I'm impressed, well done. I'm working as head accountant for a financial firm downtown, might be looking at a position in the management at some point in the not to distant future."

Tantomile nodded, "You always were good with numbers, I trust you're happy there?"

He smiled slightly, nodding. "Yes. It's a good place to work, comfortable living." The Turkish van glanced around. "How's your brother been in the last several years?"

Tantomile went from smiling freely to something that was much more forced at the mention of her brother, resulting in a sharp intake of breath before she replied. "I'm sure he's fine, goodness knows he did well enough for himself." she fought to keep the bitterness from her tone.

Charles blinked at that, his orange tail swaying uncertainly behind him. "You...don't talk much with him?"

"I...No." Tantomile admitted after a moment, half wanting to say more but not really trusting herself to. She was watching the other cat intently for his reaction.

He blinked a bit, momentary confusion flickering on his features before he nodded. "I knew you two weren't doing well during our senior year but..." He shrugged, it wasn't really his business.

"Mmmm." Tantomile agreed, "That never really improved." she didn't feel just yet like mentioning how extreme things had become.

He sighed softly. "That's a pity, it really is. Have you tried talking about it?"

Tantomile was practically grinding her teeth to keep from exploding about her brother, but she knew if she started ranting, it would look like she was the one with the irrational hatred of her twin. "Enough." she managed finally, "We speak, but only when neccessity calls."

Charles' paws rose in a motion recognized as backing down. "Fair enough." He scanned the crowd, his eyebrow rising when he say Cori to one side with a small black cat. "Do you happen to know who he is talking with, out of curiosity?"

"Frankly," Tantomile started as she followed the Van cat's gaze, "I'm surprised he's having any kind of conversation that is more than superficial." she struggled to keep ahold of herself before continuing, "Though in this case he looks to be doing so. I have no idea who the other is I'm afraid."

He nodded again. "I see. Well, regardless, it's good to see you again, Tantomile."
