"Right, well, good luck with that then, and do your job," Mac said, turning on his heels and going back to the main room, giving the place another look over.

Taradan nodded as the other left, then went to find Jefferson to update him on the situation regarding bodyguards, before sending him downstairs to let the other two know.
((Exit Taradan))

Mac returned to the main room, glancing around, giving some last minute orders to the servers and making sure things really were where they were supposed to be just as the first of the guests began to filter in. He greeted them aimlessly, glancing around again. Not one terribly important or interesting yet.

Coricopat stepped off the lift coming into the ballroom, straightening the green tie he was wearing with his second-best suit. The matching dark green vest was a little tight on the shoulders, but at least the jacket fit. He'd have to see about a new vest for this suit. Possibly in a dark blue instead.

Mac turned from the simpering widow he had been trying to make small talk with, sliding over to Coricopat. "So good of you ta join us," he said, glancing around, eyes constantly roving over the place.

"I do believe I'm still a bit early." The mottled tom's gaze swept over the sitll msotly empty ballroom.

Mac glanced at his watch and nearly scowled. "Bit. Barely. Still." He turned back to the door, more guests were coming in all the time. "Just don't hide in a corner the whole night," he said. "I have ta go play nice some more."

"There's a difference between a corner and the wall." Cori replied, glancing around for anycat he actually cared to be seen with.

Mac paused, giving him a look. "How much of a difference?" he asked.

"The corner doesn't allow for escape." Came the reply. "I'll be more social than usual if you really want me to be."

Mac snorted at the comment about escape. "Eh, do what you want. Just keep an eye out for things, as always, and I'll leave you ta it."

Cori nodded slightly. "Alright, I'll probably encounter you again this evening, but have a good time, Mac." He slipped away.

Mac sighed, glancing around again and position himself closer to the door and better able to greet the guests as they entered.

Genghis' ears flicked as he fiddled with a silver cufflink, he was wearing a new navy and cream pinstriped suit and vest with his favourite cream silk tie, feeling something out of his usual attire had been required for the occasion. The chocolate-point Siamese tomcat glanced about him, groaning inwardly, this event was clearly going to be full of the sort of crowd he detested. He turned to smile at the queen on his arm, glad he would at least be able to find some intelligent conversation there, one of the reasons he had asked her to come.
That being said, he was curious to meet Hollister, he'd heard a lot about the tom and was interested to finally get the chance to encounter him for himself. Blue eyes darted across the crowd as they entered the ballroom, seeking out their host for the evening.
