The smile broke into a quick grin, "I'm glad." Teazer felt her cheeks flush again, "Really, it was nothin'."

"Maybe," he shrugged. "But... it certainly made my night a bit better. So thank you."

Well y'said you liked apple pie...so I sorta figured." Teazer explained before turning back towards the kitchen, "I'll just get your order in."

"Alright," he said, nodding and smiling faintly.

He wouldn't be waiting long, even at the tail end of a rush time, one thing to be said for the Walnut's kitchen staff was that they were efficient. Shortly Teazer came back with his order, bringing a whole pot of coffee over to the table, knowing he would want refills.
"There y'go," she gave him a smile, almost feeling a little dissapointed as she saw the next shift's waitress come out of the kitchen and start taking orders, that meant she could go. She'd already clocked out before bringing the food to Sonya. "Well, uh, that's me done for the day."

"Thank you," he said, though his ear flickered ever so slightly when she said she was done for the day. He liked being able to see her, she made the day go a little better. "Would you mind a very tired request from me and maybe stay for a couple more minutes? It, of course, is up to you but I enjoy having the company."

Teazer smiled at that, trying to stop herself from looking overly thrilled at the prospect. "I guess I could." she reached behind her and undid her apron, making it clear to other customers that she was off duty before taking the seat opposite him.

Sonya smiled at her over his coffee cup. "Thank you," he said, glad of the company. "How has your day been so far?"

Teazer thought for a moment, "It's been alright I guess, just a normal day really. How about yours?"

Sonya started in on the sandwich. "Not too bad. There hasn't been any... overt activity the last few days so things have settled down. And I think I finally got all the files organized so I can not only find things now, but see the top of my desk and chair again."

"Do I want t'know what 'overt activity' means?" Teazer asked, "But I guess gettin' organised is a good thing."

Sonya paused, cup held halfway toward his mouth. "I, overt, it... it means there hasn't been much criminal activity the last few days. After last week, it is a nice breather." He did not want to tell her about the murders or any other number of things that happened. Raiding speakeasies was one thing, or dealing with thieves. But murders like that and the number of shoot outs? He found eight bodies down by the docks mere days ago from a shootout--and those were the one's they found.

Teazer shook her head, that hadn't been quite what she meant but she didn't press it. "Well I'm glad you've gotten a bit of a breather anyway, maybe you'll have time to eat regular meals and all." she half teased, though in that respect, his presence in the cafe twice in a week was a good thing.

He knew exactly that it was not what she asked, but he was not going to tell her anything about that. "Regular meals are quite nice," he said said, smiling and finishing the sandwich.

"They tend t'help." Teazer agreed, idly thinking again of how he reminded her of Jerrie in some ways.
