Misto felt like a wreck. His eyes were puffy, but dry, but he felt like something was eating up his stomach from the inside. It did not help that it had been misting all night, and he was wet Which partially explained why he was standing on Jerrie's porch for the first time in quite a while, banging on his door.

Jerrie, who'd been in the basement until he heard the din, muttered some choice words under his breath as he reached the front door. He glanced at the clock, shit he'd forgotten to pick Tugger up before coming home--hopefully the other cat had been able to catch the bus. "Yeah, whaddya--Misto?"

"Hi," Misto said, feeling miserable and like an idiot. "My uncle kicked me out of the house."

Not the response he'd been expecting. "Oh...um..." His brows drew together in slight confusion. "So y' here?"

Misto nodded. "You, uh, mentioned you had a couch?" The sentence had started out strong, and turned into an awkward question halfway through.

"Oh...right...” Shit. Figures he'd need it tonight when I was going to get another batch brewed. He stepped aside. "You ever hear of a telephone?"

"Uhhhh," Misto said, as he stepped inside. "Maybe? I was kind of kicked out of the house. I didn't really think about it." He blushed. "I'm sorry, I mean, if it's too much trouble I could..." he could what? he thought, his ears flicking back. There were too few other people he knew, and he didn't even know where Coricapat lived, or even consider going to the other in a time of trouble anyway.

Jerrie shook his head. "Nah, it's just a surprise." I can always get the brewing done tomorrow...didn't have specific jobs. “I told ya th' couch was available, so it is."

Misto's shoulders slumped. "T-thank you so much."

"What're friends for? I'll go see if I can find some spare blankets or summat." Jerrie slipped down the hall to dig through the linen closet.

"Jer, what's goin' on, I heard bangin'."
Teazer stood at the top of the stairs, barefoot and mostly dwarfed by a set of pyjamas she'd at some point borrowed from her brother and never given back. She'd decided to get an early night, worn out from working the late shift the night before and then starting on the breakfast one that morning. Rubbing her eyes and blinking in some confusion at the dripping tomcat in the hallway, she looked particularly childlike in that moment.

Jerrie poked his head around the corner to look up the stairway. "Misto needs a place t' stay t'night. Offered 'im th' couch."

Misto blinked at the appearance of the queen. "Oh, hello," he said.

A look of some relief crossed Teazer's face when she saw her brother.
She was silent for a moment as she took in Jerrie's words, "Oh, yeah... I guess that's okay." she turned to the newcomer who had just addressed her, "Excuse me," she gestured to her tousled and pyjama'd apperance, "I was jus' in bed. Early night an' all that." she came a couple more steps down the stairs, "Pleased t'meet you." She wracked her brains, trying to recall if she'd met this particular friend of Jerrie's before.

Jerrie glanced from his friend to his sister and back, considering for a moment. Finally deciding that he'd be just down the hall if anything happened he ducked back around the corner to the linen cupboard to find an extra pillow and a couple blankets....and a towel. Definitely a towel.
