Misto waved a hand at him. "Yeah. I'm usually around. Good luck and don't be too terribly late."

Jerrie offered him a grin as he headed quickly down the street.
((exit Jerrie))
Coricopat, who had come out of the courthouse with the intention of checking in with the street magician again today watched for a few moments in silence as the black tom conversed with the tabby. Something was whispering at the back of the lawyer's mind and once he managed to latch onto it his eyebrows rose sharply. He strolled idly down the street, waiting until the torbie was out of sight before approaching the bench. "Good day to you."

Misto blinked at the appearance of Coricopat. "Hello," he said, looking up at the other from the bench.

"How are you this afternoon?" Cat, idle conversation, he'd much prefer to get to the point, but there were a couple of things he needed to sort out in his mind first.

Misto shrugged. "Good enough. Just saw an old friend for the first time in a while. And yourself?"

"I'm doing passably, the cases are falling together well. An old friend you say?" Ah, there it was a topic of use.

"Yeah. Haven't seen him around in a while, but we've been friends for several years now. It's nice when things like that happen," Misto mused, leaning his elbows forward on his knees, tail swishing behind the bench.

"Agreed. How do you know him?" Coricopat's tone was idle, but there was nothing idle in intent.

Misto blinked. "Just from around. He moved here a few years ago and stuff. Why? You need more friends?" He was teasing, oh sweet Jesus he was teasing the ADA as if they were old friends. If he had time to think about it, he would have rather sunk into the earth than say that.

Coricopat chuckled dryly at that. "Hardly. Was just idle curiosity I suppose." He motioned to the empty space on the bench. "Do you mind if I join you for a few moments?"

Misto tried to withhold his sign of relief at that reaction. He grinned broadly at the other cat. "Sure, go right ahead." He motioned with one hand grandly to the space beside him.

Coricopat offered him a flicker of what may ahve been a genial smile as he sat down. "You haven't seen the Police Commissioner yet today have you?"

"Today he just went into the PD pretty early, looking worn out, but I saw something interesting yesterday. He got approached by one of Jones' runners, and looked pretty damn unhappy about it. Of course, most people being bribed by my uncle look pretty unhappy, but he looked like he would rather punch the cat in the middle of a crowded street than listen to him a moment longer."

"I see. So--" He paused. "Your uncle?"

Misto's eyes flickered over the other cat. "Yeah. Bustopher Jones. Looks like he's either bribing the guy, or certainly trying too."
