Misto grinned. "Well, I wish the wood luck then, and hope it gets what it wants."

Jerrie chuckled. "When you say it back to me I realize exactly how crazy that sounded."

Misto shook his head quickly. "No, not at all. I understand. That it's not crazy anyway. That's what creation is right? Letting things come and doing what feels right?"

Misto shrugged. "A couple. After a while though, there's only so far street magic can take you." In many ways he wished that was not true, especially after talking to Tugger the last day. Misto threw back his head and laughed, though it might have had the edge of hysteria in it. "Oh *god* yes he's ready to kick me out of the house. Or skin my tail first. Always blustering and giving me disapproving looks." He made light of the issue.

Misto continued to grin. "I think I'll be okay. But I might take you up on that offer sometime. Once he really does snap and boot me out." Which would hopefully be a while away yet.

"Well, guess we'll have to see." The courthouse clock struck the half-hour and the torbie bolted to his feet swearing. "Shit, I'm late. Hate to run, but I'd like to get this job over with soon as possible. See ya round mebbe?"
