Ricky whistled softly between his teeth as he darted up the stairs to the small apartment his family had. He'd sold all of his papers without trouble today and gotten money for delivering 'His Nibs' messages. It should be enough to help with rent and the like.

Taradan was just also making his way up the same stairwell when he heard a patter of feet maybe a flight above him. This building was useually busy with cats, but given the time of day, Taradan couldn't help but have a hunch about who the footsteps belonged to, and he hurried up the stairs, confirming his suspicion when he spotted his youngest brother slightly ahead.
"Hold up!"

Ricky glanced over his shoulder, but didn't stop til he'd reached the landing for the right floor. "What're you doin' here?"

Taradan rolled his eyes, "How many times did I tell you yesterday I'd be over before work tonight?" he pulled open his coat a little, revealing the security guard uniform he was already wearing for his shift that night at the gas station.

"Oh, right. Didn't really think y'd make it." He turned and started down the hall toward the family's rooms.

Satisfied Ricky wasn't going anywhere, Taradan leant down to his brother's height, meeting his eyes. "I thought I told you t'stay outta trouble?" Taradan's tone was deadly serious.

"No," Taradan's voice was almost a growl, he was actually feeling somewhat angry with Ricky right now, "but I've bin' hearin' stories about the kind of cats you're doin' work for."

A growl did escape Taradan then,"Don't be smart with me!" he gave Ricky a none-too-gentle shake, "Do you 'ave any idea what you're gettin' yourself into?"

Ricky growled. "I ain't doin' anything wrong!"
