The tortie chuckled for a moment. "First you protest my being here now you protest my silence?" He remarked with a shake of his head. "Are you ever satisfied?" He gestured to his half-eaten sandwhich. "I'm going to finish my meal while I let you cool off." Taking a drink of his coffee he continued. "Your snap was caught by a few others, monsieur."

Glancing around, Sonya sighed. The other was probably right, others had probably heard. This was why he did not speak to people in public, he remembered now. Usually his bulk and position kept cats away.
"I am perfectly cool," he muttered finally.

Russell looked up from his last bite of sandwich. After finishing it with a swallow the tom smiled. "Ah, good," he purred. "Back into hating my banter again?" The way he said it made it seem like all was right with the world.

Sonya eyed him around the coffee cup. "Are you? Then why exactly are you sitting here?" What went unasked was, and what is your judgement of me then?

The tortie caught on pretty quickly but allowed himself a leisurely sigh. "Well, I always enjoy puzzles," he answered abstractly. "The kinds that are more complex than they seem." He paused to take the last drink from his second cup of coffee. "Now that we are on the topic... What about you?"

"What about me?" Sonya asked, frowning as his ear flickered back.

"I never walk away from coffee," Sonya replied. "And it is still here."

Sonya arched a brow at that. "You are offering to buy me... what, a fourth cup of coffee?"

"Third," He corrected even though he actually wasn't sure himself. "I might as well buy a whole coffee pot, oui?"

"A whole coffee pot is only allowed at very late nights, or early mornings, at the office," Sonya replied. He needed to have some limits after all.

"Fair enough," Russell shrugged his shoulders and thanked the waitress who had brought him yet another cup of coffee. "Do you 'ave anywhere you regularly spend your free time?" His leg slipped as he went to adjust himself in his seat and he accidentally bumped Sonya's own foot. "Pardon."
