Russell weaved through his shop like a fish, instantly being lost in the fabrics and colors, much to his customer's displeasure. The tortie quickly returned with a dress draped over his arm and a small flirtatious smile about on his lips.
"Here you ar', my lady," He said and he gave the garment a shake and presenting it to the queen. Catiously the cat thumbed the fabric and pursed her lips. "I assur' you it 'es one hundred percent quaility silk and there 'es no finer fit in all of New England. Eef you don't believe me, ahhh, I might be willing to let you slip et on."
Now with a brilliant smile on her face the queen picked up the garment to retreat into one of his dressing rooms. Watching her retreating figure, the tortie let out a soft chuckle. As she turned and the wall broke his line of sight, he turned to walk over to the desk and took a seat with a sigh. With a somewhat contempt expression on his face he flipped through the papers and hummed a tune under his breath.

Genghis Selkirk entered the tailor's shop, one eyebrow arching as he looked around at the vast array of colors and fabrics. His paw ran over a particular green satin that would look lovely on Clara. He might have to talk to her about that possibility, or simply see about the dress...probably best to simply provide the funds for it.
His blue eyes drifted around the shop as he let the fabric slip back into place. Finally locating the shop owner he wove his way through the displays until he reached the other's desk, "Good afternoon, my friend."

The tortie tom looked up from the papers curiously and smiled as he saw the other tom. Sweeping to his feet he made a grand gesture of welcoming with his arms.
"Ah, bienvenue," He said and out from his sleeve he pulled a measuring tape. His eyes danced with mischief as he planned to stall until the woman left. "Per'aps a new suit, monsieur?" He promptly held up the tape to measure the tom's shoulders, but his eyes strayed elsewhere into the store, watching and waiting for the woman to return. "Something with broad shouldars? No? Something dark then, accent your cream fur? Or are we just browsing for a lady friend today? Ahhhh, you ar'! I can see et in your eyes!" Finally the woman returned with the dress draped over her arm. Without as so much a word, Russell turned to her to make the exchange for the dress.
The moment she left, his demeanor fell.
"Le Siamois?" He questioned and looked the tom up and down distrustfully. "There is not many a siamese who would just a stroll en here, no?" He leaned with one and on the desk and the tape in one hand still. "What can Russell do for you?"

"There are not many Siamese in Felidae," Genghis rejoined easily. "For all you know I could be in looking at fabrics for a suit, or for a dress for a lady friend. But you're right to assume otherwise. I have a business proposition for you. Of a more....lucrative nature."

((sorry my computer crashed and it's taken me a while for it to get back up and running))
Russell's tail flickered at the tom's last comment. One of his errand boys ran by, arms full of cloth, and the tortie was quick to stop him. With a quick whisper the little tom nodded his head and proceeded to run off.
Russell made a little movement with his hand for Genghis to follow and he proceeded off to a back part of the store. Going up to what appeared to be a storage area, he pulled out a key and quickly opened the door. Without hesitation the cat stepped in and quickly veered off to the right, disappearing out of direct line of sight.
A moment's hesitation went by before he peeked his head back through.
"Et es safe. Ef I wanted to shoot you then I would have already," He said. "Thes es merely my offeece."

Genghis rolled his eyes, "I would rather hope you wouldn't be so rash as to shoot me in the front of your shop. Especially considering the trouble it could bring down on you. Businessman and unarmed as I am." He strolled into the back room after Russell. "Now, then. How are operations running for you?"

Russell gave a smile and a shrug of his shoulders.
"I knew we were both sma'art," He took a few steps towards the much steadier built desk. Where the other one a had a few papers scattered here and there, this one was practically laden with papers and other items. There was even a box of ammunition and the revolver it went to resting peacefully and in plain view. The tortie relaxed into the large chair behind the desk and gestured for the siamese to sit in the chair provided just across the desk.
"The truth of de matter es, business es slow," He admitted. "In the Bootlegging a'rea." His eyes flickered to look up at the other cat as he leaned across the desk, suddenly all business. "But I am sure that et es a differaunt storee for you. You ar' close and comfee to the docks, no?"

Genghis considered the chair, deciding he didn't care for the position with its back to the door and at a lower level than the other's, "I'll stand if you do not mind." He looked the other over before shrugging very slightly, "When I dip into Bootlegging it can be quite profitable, but the difficulty is moving the stuff. The quality of supply that I deal in certainly would be wasted on the flotsam of the docks."

Russell shrugged his shoulders, he figured the cat would probably refuse. "'Den by all means stand," He waved a hand dismissively and reclined backwards into his chair, propping his feet up on his desk casually. "As fo'ar the goods," He continued. "I 'ave an abundant amount of consume'ars who would readily get thar hands on them, no mattar the quaility." He shrugged his shoulders uncomfortably. "I don't always 'ave them on hand, you see. So then I lose my costumars."

"I don't deal in low end liquor. Your customers have to be willing to pay good money, or there is no chance of me doing business with them," Genghis responded, leaning against the door frame.

Russell raised his brow at that comment. He had figured the cat had come to make some sort of deal with him, but if he was saying what he thought he was...
"I did'aunt say they would naut buy the 'igher quailitee items," He said and folded his hands together to rest on his chest. "En fact, I 'ave a certain group of costumars 'urting for their usual cut of our moar ((lol moar)) refined drinks. Usually pay a decent amount as well, and," He purred as he gestured to a shelf on the wall that was decorated in golden carvings of various sizes and prices. "I mean, v'ary well."
Did he make the hook look appatizing enough for the other crime lord? He hoped so. He was completely serious about the situation. The cats had been getting upset and threatening to find another dealer so he needed to get their goods to them as fast as possible. With the sillers being more overworked than usual his orders had been coming in extremely slow. A fine opportunity like Genghis could not be ignored.

Genghis' blue eyes flickered to the figurines as he considered, "Keeping in mind that much of what I deal in is imports, so you'll be seeing things from Europe, and the Caribbean, don't expect the fastest delivery, but it will be better than anything that can be cooked up in someone's bathtub. I believe we can make a deal. Not to mention, having an alliance of some sort is a good idea for two businessmen such as ourselves, what with the size of the larger gangs."

Ah, so he was.
"Yes," Russell mused aloud and gave the siamese a thoughtful look over. "I agree that an alliance will be mutually beneficial to us both. Ef you 'ave a spare box of such refined liquor than you 'ave yourself a deal."

"Which sort are you looking for? I have wine, scotch, bourbon, some good German beer. I can have some of my men bring a case of samples by after sunset tonight if you like?"

"A batch of your strongest stuff will suit et just fine," He said simply as he turned to rise to his feet. The tortie walked around the desk to stand in front of the slightly shorter tom with a small grin on his face. Casually he held out his completely black paw for the other to take. "So 'ere es to our new arrangement, yes?" Though the tom bore a smile his eyes said he trusted Genghis as far as he could throw him.
