"At this point a fully scale massacre would just draw undue attention," she replied. "I'll see about the head then."

"Not to mention a lot of undue mess as well. I want this delt with cleanly. Make it clear we're not messing about."
He slowed his pace a little as they approached the quayside where the cargo was due in, "How far from here is the murder scene?"

"Four or five blocks, the opposite direction," she replied. "And clean, got it."

"Good." he replied shortly in response to both, hopefully then he wouldn't have to worry too much about them snooping around his cargo, but still, it never hurt to exercise caution. "Can you get Hendric onto that extra labour please." his eyes were on the horizon as he spoke, where he could see ships passing; it didn't take long to identify his own cargo ship, The Chula was easily one of the larger vessels that made port here. "She's right on time."

Clara nodded again. "I'll got talk to Hendric then," she said, turning to go.

He gave her a curt nod. "Please do."

Jerrie had come down tot he docks to see if there was any work to be drummed up rather than spending all day downtown again. He glanced around, his brow rising as he spotted Clara and a moderate-sized Siamese. Huh.

Clara paused at the sight of the torbie, one ear flickering slightly, her back straightening slightly.

Genghis' tail flicked in irritation as he turned his gaze back on Clara. "Some time today would be preferable."

One of Jerrie's ears flickered at the tone, though he didn't make out the words. He tapped a claw to his forehead in a manner that suggested tipping a non-existent hat, pausing another moment before taking a couple steps in her direction. "Morning, Miss."

Clara had taken another step and stopped again. "Oh, good morning, Jerrie." She glanced between her boss and the torbie for a moment. Introductions would only be polite but she felt very unsure about it. Seeing the torbie had thrown her slightly and she wasn't sure why. But he shouldn't be at the docks. "Gilbert Morgan," she said, finally deciding introductions would be the best idea. "This is Mungojerrie Wheeler an..." her paw waved in the air for a moment. "Acquaintance. What are you doing down here this early?" she asked Jerrie.

"A pleasure" He said, meeting Genghis eyes for a brief moment with a slight bow. He returned his attention to Clara to answer he question. "Lookin' for work, can usually find some things in the mornin' down 'ere."

Clara blinked, and blinked again. Oh, she did not like that, and she didn't want to bring work up herself.

Momentarily, Genghis glared at Clara, his tail swishing beihind him. Though when the introduction was made, the smile he gave the torbie tom was cordial enough, nodding in response to the greeting since the other didn't seem inclined towards a handshake. "A pleasure to meet you as well, I'm sure." he arched one eyebrow at Clara, then turned back to look Mungojerrie over. "If it's work you're looking for, we might be able to do some business. Brown tabby over there goes by the name of Hendric, speak to him if you think you're interested, we've a large cargo arrving shortly and could use all the help we can get."

Jerrie weighed the pros and cons of that and then nodded. "Thanks."
