"I said it was possible than one, or both, of you might be. I didn't assume anything. Especially given you won't confirm it either way." she tried not to sound snappish, she certainly felt it, she should have known trying to get a straight answer from Coricopat was a lost cause, but on the grounds of their mutural work for Macavity she'd hoped he might be a little more forthcoming. She sighed, suddenly sounding tired when she spoke again, "Look, if he is involved, just make sure he knows that if the insantity plea goes through, I will be reccomending that Myre is comitted. I think, were it me in that position, I'd rather a death sentance."

"Again, if your recommendation is asked for it will be taken into consideration. Enough people are baying for blood that I doubt the asylum will be an option. But I will let him know if I see him."

Tantomile could feel her frustration mounting again at her brother's words, his last sentance being the only saving grace. "Thank you, I would just rather it was clear to him that there's not much else I can do. I'll be honest with you Cori, call me as selfish as you like, but I do not want to be in the firing line if, for whatever reason, this case doesn't go the way he would like it to, whichever that may be."

"Fair enough. Now if that's all?" He really needed to get back to work.

"That's all, and you know I don't make social calls," as if you'd let me "so yes, you can go." her tone was somewhat icy and sacrcasm dripped from every word, "I wouldn't dream of keeping you longer than nesseccary."

Coricopat blinked at that, staring at the phone. He considered actually saying goodbye, but after the utter dismissal that had him feeling the right thing to do was snap his heels together and salute.... He didn't reply, simply hung up.
((exit Coricopat))

As she heard the click at the end of the line, Tantomile was immidiately annoyed at herself for stooping to that level again, but really, she told herself, he started it, he always did, driving her to become snide again. She put the reciever down, further annoyed that she hadn't even really been able to satisfy her curiosity. She supposed she had to admire her brother's loyalty, but he'd left her in a foul mood as usual. Checking the clock again, she picked up her coat from the stand by the door, determined to take a walk and clear her head before returning to work, even if it made her late for her next client.
