Sonya settled himself down onto one of the park benches, having barely had time to catch his breath that day and wanting a bit of fresh air, even for only five minutes. It was fairly cold out still, the the sky looked like it was considering raining, but he spread his arms out across the back of the park bench anyway, sighing.

Ricky made his way through the park. Not a lot of people out and about at the moment, but he'd made several sales around the lunch hour, he really only had one more paper left. He paused when he saw the large tom on the park bench. No cat else in sight. Weighing the pros and cons even as he approached the older cat, the newsboy offered him a bit of a smile, "Afternoon, sir. Care for a copy a th' Tribune?"

Sonya arched a brow, considering the small kit in front of him. "Paper?" he asked, his brain not doing so well with keeping up with reality.

Sonya blinked and shook his head slightly. "Sorry, right of course." He paused. "How bad are today's headlines then?"

He shrugged, "Ain't nothin' too gruesome t'day. Police're doin' their jobs, it looks like."

That got a long blink out of Sonya. "Well, that at least is good news," he said, eying the kit a bit more warily.

Sonya shrugged, going to fish out the two cents. "Might as well read about how the police are doing..." Blasted reporters. Who needed freedom of the press again? "Though I am slightly concerned about giving money to somekit so... shady looking."

Ricky looked decidedly unimpressed with that. "It's two cents."

Sonya smiled faintly, and produced the two cents. "Two cents to a shady character is quite a bit, but here you go."

The larger cat could not help but smile faintly at that. "You are right, I apologize. You are sandy, not shady."

The small kit frowned for a moment as though trying to determine whether to take that as an insult or not and finally grinned. "Yeah, that's me."

Sonya considered the paper, and then the kit again. "So if you are out selling papers now, do you not go to school?"
