There was a brief moment when she didn't say anything before shaking her head slightly. "Thank you. I guess after a certain point I lost the motivation for it."

He studied her for a moment, and then decided that probably fell under the off-limits topics, which it seemed a lot did. "Fair enough."

One of her ears flickered again, and she glanced over to his face. "I... Almost regret that now," she murmured and looked away abruptly.

She nodded, still not looking at him. "Mhm. It's as enjoyable as I remember... I just lost both the taste and the time for it." Hard to dance in the ruins of one's life and world.

She watched him go before sitting back down, hard, at the bar. It wouldn't be until the next morning she realized just how much she had said around him, and how almost happy being around him made her--at least able to forget a little. The thought disturbed her more than many things had in the last several years.
