The tabby tom considered the question whilst he lit up, relaxing a little at the nicotine hit, this conversation was setting him somewhat on edge. "He's bright, prob'ly brighter than most of us, but he's got too much of a smart mouth, an sometimes he don't think with no common sense."

Macavity nodded, having picked up on the intelligence somewhat, but much more on the smart mouth. "Rather," he murmured, looking around again. He didn't much like the situation, but there wasn't much he could do about it, especially since Jones now knew who he probably was.

Taradan shifted a little, about to say something then bringing the cigarette back to his mouth instead, "I gotta be honest with'y." he said finally, "I ain't happy about this situation, 'e's too young t'be involved in somethin' like this."

Mac glanced over at him. He may agree but... "Age is relative," he responded, going to looking back at the road.

Taradan nodded, squaring his shoulders slightly, "I know, ain't like I could get him outta' this if I wanted ta. An' I'm still angry with 'im f'getting himself inta' it in the first place." he shook his head, "Guess he'll always be my kid brother, even when he ain't no kit anymore." assuming Ricky stayed out of trouble to live that long.

Another of Mac's ears flickered and almost flattened at that. Damn it Tugger... he recalled their last conversation down at the docks. "Kit brothers have a habit of doin' that," he murmured, suddenly deeply uncomfortable talking about it.

Taradan nodded, "I uh, I guess so." somehow he knew it probably wasn't a good idea to press things further. He fell silent for a time, finishing his smoke before speaking again, "So, uh, if y'don't mind my askin', what's the plan t'night?"

Mac shrugged. "Leavin' a warnin' for some moronic idiots who thought messin' with me was goin' ta be a good idea."

Taradan nodded, his conscience not stirred in the slightest. This was familiar ground. He didn't ask who was actually going to be doing the dirty work, he was pretty sure that would become aparrent soon enough. He did check on his gun again though, just a brief pat to his jacket to ensure he could feel the weight of it in the holster. "Y'want me t'go down t' the garage an' see about what's keepin' 'em with the car?"

Mac shrugged about to do it himself when the car finally arrived. He gave the valet a long look as they stammered something about the first car having engine trouble. For a long moment Macavity just gave him a long stare, grinning slightly when the other quailed before turning to Taradan. "I'm drivin'," he said, getting in the car.

Taradan shrugged, it made little difference to him. Though if Macavity was driving did that mean he'd be the one doing whatever needed to be done? Okay, so perhaps Taradan was just a little curious about that. He didn't ask though, just got in the passenger side quickly, knowing the red tabby wouldn't want to be kept waiting.

Mac glanced over at him and pulled away, leaving the poor Valet quailing behind them. "Aside from obvious things, how's your night been?"

"Uh.." Taradan blinked, rather taken aback by the question, "Fine I guess." he wasn't used to such familiar questions from higher-ups in this organisation, and certainly had't expected it from the boss himself.

"That's good," Mac said, pulling down the drive, heading for the docks. He hated to not have something to talk about, and sometimes and insistent need to chatter rather than sit in silence.

Taradan nodded, "Can't complain, rather it's bin' pretty uneventful up until you askin' me t'come with'y."
