The lunch crowd was a little larger than usual and Cassandra eyed them with distaste. Her usual table had been given away by some new waitress and Cassandra had been seated further back in the hall.
Her sleek brown fur rippled at a crash from the kitchen. The chef here was a prideful man, but as today's slowness showed, his staff suffered under the stress of a booming business. It would probably be an extra twenty minutes before her food arrived. Luckily her manager at the bank was wrapped around her finger and being late wouldn't be a problem.
She glanced around the hall, bored and deciding to surreptitiously observe her fellow diners for entertainment.

The Siamese tomcat was a picture of calm in the chaos of the otherwise busy restaraunt, he'd had the good sense and fortune to arrive prior to the lunchtime rush and was now enjoying a cigarette and coffee undisturbed and unruffled. He was seated unbeknown to him, at Cassandra's usual table.

Cassandra's attention eventually settled on the tomcat who currently occupied her usual table. Sleek and well dressed he smoked a cigarette and she wondered what kind. She could not observe any package and mused that they could be hand rolled.
Midway between herself and the Siamese Tom, there was a crash and a stillness. The new waitress had tripped and spilled the entree's she'd been carrying.
Cassandra winced, and wondered if it might be better today to procure a faster lunch at a deli downtown.

The Siamese glanced up at the crash, his face, for a second, a picture of distaste, before it he rearranged it back into something more neutural. His gaze slipped past the clumsy waitress and alighted momentarily on the dark queen seated across the room. Wondering, as he clocked her, if she'd been watching him.

Cassandra glanced at her wristlet watch and decided to leave. She waved down a waitress and curtly informed her to cancel her lunch order. Obviously service here was lacking in discipline and she should take her business elsewhere. circumnavigating the mess left by the spill, Cassandra made for the door.
She caught the siamese Tom looking at her and made a curt nod his way. Smug looking fellow.

A few moments later, he was catching up with her outside, having already settled the bill when his coffee came, it had taken him only a few moments to finish it and collect his jacket and hat. The cigarette was still in his paw.

Glancing around to get her bearings, Cassandra spotted the Siamese Tom exiting the restaurant and turning in her direction. She glanced at her wristlet watch again and guaged that she had thirty minutes until she was supposed to be back, and she could wrangle an extra ten. There was a delicatessen about three blocks from the bank. Not her favorite but it would do.

"I hope you'll pardon the intrusion Miss, but you left the restaraunt somewhat suddenly, I was a little concerned."

"Oh that is nothing to be concerned over." She turned a small smile in his direction. "I was merely dissatisfied with the service, Mr. ?"
Her tail twitched, her ears stood forward at attention, and a small smile betrayed her curiosity.

He returned the smile, somewhat amused by her reply, "Morgan, Gilbert Morgan." It was still odd to be introducing himself by that name, but he had to admit, he enjoyed it.

She offered her paw, "Cassandra Amonroso, it's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Morgan."

He took the offered paw, pressing a brief kiss to it and meeting her eye as he looked up with a disarming smile. "A pleasure to meet you Miss Amonroso."

"Is there anything else I can do for you, Mr. Morgan? I'm afraid I'm in a bit of a rush. I've only so much time before my lunch hour comes to a close." Her tone was friendly and teasing. Charming as he was, she knew that she should give herself time to eat someway other than on her feet.

The chocolate-point considered for a moment, he had no reason to stay, but this encounter had brightened up an otherwise rather ordinary day. He'd not had much personal excitement in his life since moving to the USA and was certainly interested in stirring things up a little. Only a stock take and accounts were awaiting him back at his office.
"Would you be adverse to a little company?" he had no problems being forward when he was interested in something.

"Who could turn away the company of such a gentleman?" She resisted the urge to check her wristlet again, instead gesturing down the avenue crossing main street. "I was just going to acquire some lunch down at the Parks's Delicatessan."
