Tugger stiffened a little at that, it seemed, despite everything, parts of his pride were still intact. "Thanks but I'll take my chances. So long as I don't wake him it ain't no problem."

His ears flicked just a little, "Nearly took 'im last time anyhow. I'm bigger than I used t'be an' he's older. Besides, if he ain't jus' got in, he'll be in a stupor anyhow." Tugger looked down, the irony of his own words not entirely lost on him.

"The two of you in a stupor," Sonya remarked, a brow raised. "That hardly sounds like a good idea. Are you sure a hotel would not be a better idea anyway?"

A shrug of the shoulders and Sonya nodded. "Alright. If you are sure you can get home then, I need to be heading that way myself." He tipped his hat to the other. "Since sadly I can think of no spare brains laying around."

Tugger nodded, "Mebbe I will. G'night." He watched Sonya leave for a moment before testing how steady he was on his feet, their conversation had at least sobered him up somewhat, and he was able to continue the long walk home just a little less unsteadily.
