For a moment Mac didn't respond to that, feeling like such a statement should be savored almost, packed away and looked at on rainy days. But the emotion was still almost too much for him to handle, and he had to joke about it before it choked him. "Was?" he asked with a titled brow. "It ain't there anymore?"

A sort of comfortable silence stretched out as Brachen ate. Occasionally, he'd glance up and look at Mac. "Can I paint you?"

Macavity blinked for a long moment, fork hovering halfway in the air as he considered that. "I... certainly, Brachen," he said, voice low and soft.

"Or comes back." Brachen shook his shoulders. "But that goes without saying, yeah?" He grinned. "But yeah, I see you all in fire and water - power. I think I always wanted to, but you've grown into it."

Macavity grinned slightly, liking that description but not really sure he fully understood it. "Powers nice," he said softly. "So's growin' inta things."

Brachen took a sip of his drink. "After breakfast, then? Do you have time today? It shouldn't take more than a couple hours." Once he got the base sketch down, he could do the rest from memory. He remembered Mac very well.
