Macavity sighed, rubbing a paw across his face, glancing toward the clock to figure out what time he might consider heading upstairs. It was still fairly early in the evening, and he spared a though to whether or not his brother might actually bother showing up for not.

Tugger would have been hurt if he knew Macavity thought he might not show up after he'd sent a note to say he wanted to catch up with his youngest brother. The previous year of non-contact still fresher than he'd like in his mind, Tugger had been secretly rather pleased that Macavity wanted to see him. Besides, he had the suit to return from New Year's as well.
Tugger hadn't come straight from the Fishbone but went home to collect Macavity's suit and even find himself some slightly tidyer attire than what he'd been to work in; smartening himself up a little before heading for the Demoniaque. He was later than he might have been as a result, but felt a little less out of place walking in there again at least. Still not that familiar with the hotel, he stopped to tell the desk clerk that his brother was expecting him and ask where he needed to go.

Martin looked a good deal less impressed to see him than he had been before, Macavity's warning that he would turn his desk clerk into a rug still rather fresh in his mind. "Second floor office," he told the other cat.

Tugger didn't much like the look Martin gave him, simply nodding as he made his way to the ballroom level, remembering how to get there at least.
He managed to find his way to his brother's office though, his memory serving better than he'd expected it to.

Mac looked up when he heard pawsteps, rubbing a paw over his face and setting down the fountain pen he had been using. "Come in," he called out.

Tugger pushed open the door and came in, shutting it behind him, but still somewhat hovering near the doorway. "Hey Mac."

"Tug," Mac said, glancing up with a grin, rising and coming around the desk. "So 'lad you came."

Tugger laid the suit down carefully over the back of a chair before shrugging a reply, "Not too bad I guess, much the same as normal. How about you, ain't seen y'since New Years, an' we couldn't find you t'say goodbye to when we left." there was a tiny bit of hurt in his tone there, though it wasn't really intentional.

Mac winced slightly. "Sorry, things 'ot a little... hectic. I should have tried ta at least say goodbye though."

Mac inclined his head and took a closer look at his brother, frowning slightly. "Still..." he said, tilting a bit forward. "Is that a bruise on your forehead?"

"Oh," Tugger put a paw to the tender area above his right eye, looking a bit sheepish, "yeah."

Macavity's eyes narrowed and his shoulders tensed. "What happened?" he demanded, voice going low in anger.
