"Yes," Mac replied, as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

Tugger just shook his head, "Y'may be my brother but sometimes there are things even I don't understand about you." actually, there was a lot Tugger didn't understand about Macavity, but he chose to ignore or discount most of those because they just didn't fit in with the brother he knew.

Mac grinned at that. "Well, that's hardly a bad thin'," he said, not bringing up any of the things that were less than savory that Tugger might not understand. "Do you have any plans for the rest of the day?"

"Not really," Tugger admitted, "Munk's out an' if he is with a gal I can't think he'll be back anytime soon. Deuteronomy's out, so I guess I'll have the place t'myself when I head back, but I ain't got any real plans f'my time." he shifted a little in his seat, "Sorry, you probably hafta' get on with work or the like... I'm holdin' you up."

"Not at all," he murmured. "I had no plans today either, which was why I was doin' the work. Most people 'et ta take Christmas off you know." He paused for a moment. "Stay at lon' as you like."

"Well I don't wanna' get in your way..." But Tugger's protest was weak, more made on principal than anything, he had to admit that staying here with his brother seemed much better than the alternative, going back to a cold, empty house alone.

"I offered, didn't I?" Mac said, tone firm. "You can stay as lon' as you like."

Just for a second, Tugger swallowed his pride and gave Macavity a smaller, more genuine smile. "Thanks Mac."

Mac almost brushed that off, but after a moment nodded. "You're welcome," he said, voice a little gruff as the desserts arrived.

Oddly enough, for Tugger, that offer to stick around was a far better christmas present than anything Macavity could have spent money on. He nodded briefly in response to Macavity before turning his attention to the dessert that had just been placed in front of him. He was going to enjoy this.

Mac smiled, actually rather sincerely as he watched Tugger eating, taking his time with his own milkshake.

Tugger was rather quiet whilst tackling the dessert, he was a reasonable sized cat with a healthy appetite, but by the time he'd almost finished he had to admit to feeling somewhat over-sated.

Mac finished his milkshake and pushed it away, considering the other. "Well then," he said, leaning back and crossing his arms. He was starting to crave a cigarette but felt too odd smoking one in a place like that, despite the fact he owned it.

Tugger took one more mouthful before admitting defeat, "I'm done," he put the spoon down, "that was good, a little too good. I don't want t'eat again for a week."

Mac grinned at that. "Oh, I'm sure you will, just not for a while yet. Shall we then?" he asked, rising and motioning toward the other.
