He paused for a very long moment before finally mumbling, "Merry Christmas," in return. It had been about two years since he had wished someone a happy holiday.

The pause didn't go amiss with Teazer and she frowned at him for a second before deciding not to press the topic. "See y'soon, I hope."

He came close to a grin at that. "Oh, do not worry, I shall not forget," he said, tipping his hat to her and turning toward the door.
