"Because you have turned... oh," he said considering the conversation and blushing very slightly himself.

Teazer fiddled self consciouly with her pearls, twisting the string tightly around her fingers, "Mebbe I should go see if any tables need cleaning...."

"I... you could," he said, though his ear flickered back. "I probably will not be going anywhere for a while yet."

Teazer nodded, feeling the heat go right to the roots of her ears, pulling on the pearls harder. She pulled a little too hard and the string snapped, scattering the beads all over the restarant floor.

"Oh!" Teazer dived to her hands and knees to collect the pearls before they rolled further away, concerned they would get stepped on by a customer, despite the cafe being nearly deserted.

Sonya's eyes widened at that, he lent down to gather up some of the beads that had made their way under his table. "Here," he said, holding them out to her. "Or... should they just be thrown away?"

Teazer gathered all the beads she could find, putting them in her apron pocket, more just because it got them off the floor than any real desire or need to keep them. She was still blushing furiously as she took the ones Sonya passed across. "Y'don't need t'trouble y'self, really."

"It was no problem, really," he said, noticing her continued blush. He was starting to worry a bit about that honestly, because she could not possibly... "It is too bad it was so breakable."

Teazer shook her head, "It ain't the first time, I got a bit of a habit of doin' that. S'why I only buy cheap ones, then again, if I didn't buy cheap ones, mebbe they wouldn't break so easy."

"Quality does help," Sonya said with a faint smile. "They are made to last that way after all."

"Yeah, but like Jerrie's always sayin' t'me, they're also meant t'be worn an' not played with. At least if I break these it don't matter, they ain't special to me and don't cost a lot to replace." Teazer offered, feeling inwardly glad her blush seemed to be fading.

Sonya felt a smile twitch the corners of his mouth. "Well, there are always bonuses and minuses to any situation."

Teazer nodded, dropping the last bead into her apron and straightening up. "I guess so."

He shifted slightly, taking a sudden gulp of coffee. "I was wondering," he started and stopped. Well, he had started the sentence, he should probably be sure to finish it and perhaps manage to not make such a muddle of it as he had in the past. "If you are free sometime... Since I seem to lack a social life entirely, since going to the cinema alone apparently is not social if you would... like to come with me sometime." Right, muddle. Massive muddle. Great. Oh well, the question was asked, and he could always slink back home for an extra session of wallowing if she said no.

For a moment, Teazer didn't know what to say, somewhat unsure on what grounds he was asking her. Though she couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement in her stomach too. So why couldn't she come up with a more intelligent, or at least flattering reply?

"Uh... I guess so."

One of his ears flickered slightly at that. Well, it was not a no after all, but perhaps hesitation was for the best. "Alright," he said quietly. "Would there be any time you would like to go? In particular?"
