Tugger raised an eyebrow, unable to help feeling just a little intrigued, "An' you'd actually consider takin' someone you'd previously arrested in relation to a murder?"

Another shrug of Sonya's shoulders greeted that statement. They were in Felidae after all... "You were hardly guilty. It was a mistake on all our parts. If I thought you were guilty I would not have mentioned it. Anyone can make mistakes."

Tugger was actually rather gratified by that, Sonya hadn't needed to say it, but he'd chosen to all the same. He held out a paw to the Commissioner, "Thank you for botherin' t'say that." he was quickly developing an odd sort of respect for Sonya, surprised by the other cat's straightness and humility. "You ain't what I'd expect a police Commissioner to be, especially in this town. But that's no bad thing."

"Thank you," Sonya said. "I'm glad to hear I am not like my predecessors."

Tugger nodded, "Mebbe that's what this town needs. How long you been doing this anyhow?"

"Oh," Sonya said. "The Commissioner bit? All of six or seven... no, eight days now. I didn't sleep between two of them so they ran together."

Tugger was somewhat surprised at that, "Wouldn't have guessed it. And Jeeze, tough break. Now I know why you were so keen t'get things wrapped up last night."

"I'm glad it's not obvious that I'm new to this," Sonya said, standing and shuffling some papers around, looking for something he had just remembered. He was not going to mention that the night before he had been ready to curl up on the interrogation table and sleep there.

Tugger shrugged, "Well it wasn't t'me anyway." he watched Sonya shifting through the paperwork. "You must be pretty busy though, I'll leave you to it. Can I get my stuff at the front desk?"

"Ah," Sonya said, glancing up. "Yes, of course. The secretary there should be able to help you with that. Please keep what I said in mind, and have a good day."

"Tugger nodded, "I will, thanks again." he offered Sonya a quick smile before making for the door.

Tugger closed the office door behind him, making for the front desk again.
Ten minutes later, he was leaving the station a much happier cat than he had gone in. Not only had he got his wallet and keys back, but when he'd produced the license, they'd allowed him his gun back too, which was a definite turn up for the books, there was no way he'd have been able to afford to replace it.
More than anything, the talk with Sonya had helped too, as well as discovering Griddlebone had vouched for him, Tugger felt his name had been cleared by the Commissioner, even to the point of allowing him to feel valued. The opportunity to vent had allowed him to let off steam as well and he was starting to feel more like his normal self again. He felt comfortable about the idea of returning to the docks as well, and since he had the time to kill, set out to walk there, deciding he most definitly owed Griddlebone his thanks.

Sonya turned back to the paperwork, and trying to organize his office. It would not do for yet another beautiful queen to come into his office and see it such a mess, he mused. Besides them, it was embarrassing in general. He thought briefly of Tugger, and hoped that he might have not been wrong about him.
