It was getting on into the afternoon before Tugger got over his pride enough to consider returning to the police station to collect his things. He wouldn't have bothered at all, except that his wallet had contained his earnings for the day and as far as his key went, well he wasn't stooping to asking Munkustrap to let him in whenever he came home; currently his wasn't interested in seeing or talking to either of his brothers, he'd forgiven neither of them for last night.
It was a much better groomed Tugger re-entering Felidae PD than the bedraggled and throughly damp tomcat who'd been delivered there the night before. In the need to regain some self-respect, he'd made a bit more of an effort, mane and headfur combed and tidy, and although he was sans vest or jacket, he manged quite easily to look appealing in a rugged way, with his shirt buttoned to the base of his mane, and clean suit pants. He'd worn an overcoat too, since even with his fur, the weather was definitely getting colder.
Tugger paused a moment before opening the doors to the station but then he pulled himself together and marched straight towards the inquiries desk, coat over one arm with an air of confidence, or bravado at the very least.

Sonya had stepped out of his office in search of another cup of coffee and to make some inquires about another case currently going on. He glanced up when he saw the very tom he had just been thinking of stride through the doors. His eyebrows rose as he took in the other tom's changed appearance, and changed his path so that he could intersect with the other. "Ah, Mr. Hollister," he said, approaching him.

Running into the comissioner so suddenly, or indeed at all, was enough to shake Tugger's act just a little bit, the mask slipping momentarily as one ear twitched and his tail curled briefly around him. A second later he shook himself out of it, "Comissoner Vlask," he managed to greet the other tom back, doing his best to sound casual "just dropped in to pick up my personal belongings, forgot to ask f'them back last night."

"Indeed," Sonya replied, looking the other over. "I'm sure we will be able to get you those." He paused, and leaned against the counter. "As long as you're here, I was wondering a little bit more about last night. Miss Griddlebone seemed pretty amused when I brought your name up in conjunction to it. She certainly seems able to vouch for your character. But, I'm curious about the man who bailed you out last night..."

Tugger's jaw dropped a little at the mention of Griddlebone. Though then he bit his lip, "You ain't been kicking up trouble at her place have you?" some part of him was mildly concerned that this might be some sort of threat. Though he had to admit, Sonya didn't seem the type.

Sonya blinked at him. "Uh, no," he said. He was even making sure the Fishbone was not going to be raided for at least six months. "She came to me today with some information on a similar murder that happened earlier this week. While she was here I asked her if she knew of you at all, or knew anyone who could vouch for your character."

Tugger looked relieved, "She's a lady an' no mistake." a pause, "I hope you can understand me not mentionin' where I was workin' before. But I didn't wanna make trouble on her account, she's been good to me."

Sonya nodded. "Yes, I understand. Doesn't mean I was pleased with it last night, but after speaking to her it does make sense. Just, also understand where we are coming from. We are investigating a string of murders after all, and lying to us in any way makes our jobs that much harder, and the murderer that much more difficult to find."

Tugger pulled a face, "I didn't exactly lie t'you." his tail twitched a little at Sonya's mention of catching the murderer, he had no idea how he felt about Macavity at the moment, but the idea of his brother being arrested and tried for murder, true or not, still didn't sit well with him, despite everything.

Sonya tilted his head to the side, watching the other. "Alright. But with holding information is lying... from a certain point of view. Just keep that in mind would you?"

Not if you don't ask
Tugger nodded, "Well I wouldn't have done it if I didn't think I had a good reason. I don't really care if you wanted t'bust me f'workin' illegally, but the Lady is a different matter. I've got too much respect for her."

Sonya shrugged. "A speakeasy is the least of my problems at this point. Now, if she was involved in something else, that would be a different matter." He paused, taking a sip of coffee. "I did want to ask you about that... Macavity character though. How well do you know him? He certainly seemed to show up quickly last night." Suspiciously quickly. He also laid down a fairly large sum of money with no questions asked.

Tugger couldn't help it, a growl escaped a the mention of his oldest brother's name. Macavity was still not in his good books, neither was Munkustrap come to that, he was fed up with being looked down on by both of them.

Sonya's eyebrows shot up. That was an interesting reaction to have to the name of a distant relation who bailed one out of prison with no questions asked.

Tugger's expression had turned somewhat stony, he was lost in the reminder of his seemingly eternal little brother syndrome. Sonya's original question had already escaped his mind.
