Cohen stepped off the lift into the hall approaching the penthouse. He'd been on his way home, but needed to stop in and check on Macavity's wound. He'd seen to it since the tabby had received it, but over the last day or so he'd been busy with work at the hospital and a personal matter. December always arrived far too swiftly in his opinion.

Macavity glanced up at the sound of footsteps, and he couldn't remember calling anyone to a meeting. He glanced at his desk, where a firearm was being cleaned, and some paperwork strewn about, not to mention a book laying haphazardly open. Oh well, if they were up at the penthouse, probably not someone to worry about. And hotels owners could perfectly be excused having guns anyway. "Come in," he called out after a moment's thought.

Doc opened the door, quietly, stepping inside and letting it fall shut behind him. "Good evening, Macavity."

Macavity froze for a second when he saw who it was, and in the next second was smoothing a paw over his hair and leaning against the desk. "Ah, doctor. Here ta check up on my wounds again?"

"Da." The Russian Blue approached the desk, setting his kit down. "How have they been feeling?"

Mac shrugged, walking around the desk to sit in the chair. "Not ta bad. Barely hurt anymore." He watched Cohen out of the corner of his eye.

An eyebrow arched at that. "I see. You have been resting, as I told you to?"

Mac considered lying--he very seriously considered lying, but that defeated the point of having a doctor didn't it? "For the most part," he said.

"Do you care to explain that statement?" Doc asked, coming around the desk.

"'Bout what it sounded like," Mac said, keeping his eyes on the other. "Been restin' up for the most part, been out an doin' some business--legal business the last couple days though. Just some standin' and walkin' and drivin', nothin' that strained anythin'."

Cohen frowned slightly at that, but nodded. "I see." He paused. "In order to check that wound I need to be able to see it, and seeing through cloth still is not something I know how to do."

The corners of Mac's mouth twitched upward. "Really, after all this time you still can't do it?" he said lightly, working on the buttons of his shirt and finally pulling it off.

"Nyet. I will blame it on my spectacles and leave it at that." He drew another chair over, sitting down and unwrapping the wound.

Mac's smile slipped at that slightly, and he winced. Taking a deep breath, he watched Cohen as he unwound the bandage.

Doc glanced up at him. "Barely hurt, hm?" He carefully examined the, still healing, wound.
