Mac's eyebrows shot up when he turned from seeing Coricopat off to notice his brother strolling down the street. He glanced around, slipping back into the shadows, and followed him. He was curious to see where he was going, and also he wanted to have a talk to him about spending so much time in the PD.

Tugger was glad when he arrived at the Fishbone, it might not have been the smartest of locations, but the warm light inside and sound of voices and music was welcome after the cold silence of the dockside alleyways. He made straight for the bar, hoping to find Griddlebone serving there.

Griddlebone laughed with the latest customer as she handed him his drink. "Nah, Jack, that isn't what I said at all, don't you be tellin' lies now." She turned away, her bright blue skirt swirling with the motion.
"When you gonna marry me, milady?"
"Better not let 'Tiger hear you talking like that, friend." Oh, she was in her element.

Mac's eyebrows rose when he saw the downtrodden speakeasy and he followed the other inside, sticking near the wall.

Tugger grinned as he spotted the Lady behind the bar, finding a gap among the other customers to lean against it, content enough to wait until she spotted him than trying to jump in ahead of anyone's drinks order.

She finally finished with the basic orders and turned to see if there were any others. Her eyes lit on the young tom and she smiled brightly. "Tugger! Imagine seeing you here this time a night."

Mac's eyebrows rose at the brief sight he had of the pale queen talking to his brother. Glancing around the room, weighing the danger he might be in at any moment, he started slinking his way toward the bar.

"Told you I'd drop in an' see what the place was like in opening hours."Tugger grinned broadly at Griddlebone, "Besides, seems I owe you a rather large amount of thanks. The Commissioner pretty much cleared me of any charges, told me you vouched f'me."

She shrugged at that, the smile never leaving. "Well, it made no sense for you to be involved with that sort of thing." She paused a moment to glance around, not seeing anyone else looking like they were ready to order a drink. "Can I get you anythin'?"

"Speaking of the Commissioner," Mac said from behind Tugger. "I wanted to ask you about that."

Griddlebone's gaze moved to the firey tabby behind Tugger, one dark eyebrow arching sharply. How had she not seen him come in? Not that she was complaining, mind.

"Still," Tugger told Griddlebone, "if there's anythin' I can do by the way of repaying you, just say the..." he cut off at the voice behind him, jumping just a little, "Everlastin' Cat, Mac, will you stop doin' that!"
Tugger felt his bad mood returning as he made his apology to Griddlebone, "Excuse me f'a bit milady." he turned back to Macavity, glowering, "An' what the hell d'you want this time?"

Mac crossed his arms over his chest. "Getting buddy with the Commish? Wanna tell me why?"

Griddlebone paused a moment, this could be interesting, but she had other customers. She moved along the bar, dealing with orders as she went, but keeping one ear tipped toward the two toms.

"Come t'have a go at me again?" Tugger's tone was cold, "I shoulda' guessed."
