Macavity pulled his coat a little tighter around himself, glancing over at Coricopat. "Well, that went better than I 'xpected," he said, walking down the quayside, his eyes moving from side to side, considering his surroundings.

The mottled tom nodded slightly at that. "Indeed. Could have gone better, but at least it worked." He sidestepped to avoid a pile of nets some idiotic fishercat had left on the docks. His mind strayed to his earlier conversation with the magician. What the hell had he been thinking?

Mac titled his head to better look at the other without obviously turning his head. "You seem distracted," he said, digging his paws further in his pockets.

Coricopat shrugged. "Not really. It's been a busy day."

Mac hummed in the back of his throat. "Productive though," he mused, glancing around the area, noticing some lights on in a shanty. He wondered who was hiding out in there. Turning his head, he considered some of the other buildings.

"No denying that." Coricopat replied, his grey gaze sweeping over the grimy dockside, his lip curling in silent disgust. This was a good place to conduct the darker side of the business, but really it was revolting sometimes.

Nodding, Macavity's ears flickered back when he heard a yell in the distance. "So, any plans for the rest of the night?"

"I was thinking of heading back to the Demoniaque and finishing up some paperwork before trying to get some sleep." Cori replied, his ears flickering toward the cry.

Mac spread his paws out. "You want to go in an' do paperwork, when our lovely lady of a city is willin' to show some of her worst features? Suit yourself."

"I don't want to go in and do paperwork. I want to go in and sleep, which implies getting that paerwork done. You are welcome to enjoy the worst this city has to offer, but tonight I think I'm going to bow out."

Mac smirked and shook his head. "Suit yourself then. I'll see you later," he said, turning and starting down a side road that caught his attention.

It was getting later by the time Tugger reached the docks and he realised that likely the Fishbone would be open to customers at this hour. Not that he minded this, in fact he was quite curious to see the place in full swing and at least it pretty much guranteed Griddlebone would be in.
He felt his fur bristle slightly as he walked past the place of the murder scene but shook it off and hurried onwards to the speakeasy, trying to stop his brain entertaining the idea that he was being followed.
