The ADA sighed at that, knowing the truth of it, "I...you're right, I just hate not being able to help you."

"You do it in other ways," Mistoffelees said and paused. "Stay tonight though?"

"Good," Mistoffelees said quietly, watching him before rising and following.

Covering the leftovers and putting them in the icebox, Coricopat set his dishes in the sink and ran the water, unbuttoning his cufflinks.

Watching him for a moment, Mistoffelees came up behind him, wrapping his arms around Coricopat's waist and resting his cheek against his shoulder blades. "I'm not sure I'll ever get over watching you wash dishes."

"Point," Mistoffelees laughed, the sound low and warm, though tired. "I'm not sure I've ever actually witnessed you cooking either."

"Yes, you did," Mistoffelees chuckled. "I'd offer to teach you if I thought you'd take it or that we would have the time for it. Though, you could come down to my soup kitchen sometime instead. Hand things out. That might count."

"I'm a philanthropist, trying to convert you to my side," Mistoffelees laughed. "And ruin your image in the meantime. Though it sure would confuse cats."

"Ah, but confusion only works so far for leverage," Coricopat reminded. "Though I suppose working the soup kitchen at a given time might allow me to see you more..."

"And then you'd have to escort me home because it's dangerous," Mistoffelees said and paused. "Could you imagine Sonya Vlask's face if he found out? Maybe we'd have to have you do only dinners."
