Name: Victoria Elisabeth Duetermann
Aliases: Her father used to call her Princess, her mother always refers to her by her full first name. The other girls at school sometimes call her Vicky. She never really liked that nickname all that much.
Age: 17, born on February 29th 1908
Build: Roughly 5’6”, 125 lbs. Most of her weight is concentrated in her hips, masking her remarkably thin waist. Small bosomed, although that may change in five years or so.
Origin: Born and raised in Felidae. Her father was from here, he met her mother at Law school in Virginia.
Occupation: High School Student by day, by night she works as a clerk for her father’s old partner. He gave her the job out of pity but she’s proven to be quite good at it.
Eyes: Blue to gray. Dark ring around the outside, lighter shades toward the inner rim.
Hair: Her head fur is naturally wavy and white, although she’s toyed with the idea of bobbing it she’s never had the courage. For now she keeps it long, plaited or in a bun
Scars: Three burn scars from bullying at school. High school girls held her down and burned her with cigarettes as punishment for getting the poetry prize in class.
Fur/Markings: Snow white throughout, midlength with a thick undercoat
Attire: Usually she wears a tea length skirt in a solid neutral color, low heeled boots that lace up halfway up her calf, a long sleeved blouse, light jacket and a cloche with a pale blue flower on it. The cloche was a gift from her father shortly before he died. Other common items: an apron when at home, a blouse with lace that she wears to mass on Wednesday evenings, a heavy coat handed down from her mother, a thick green woolen scarf of some significant length.
Accessories: A black wooden rosary she usually carries rather than wears.
WOC: None. She’s never been in a serious fight. Being bullied at school didn’t count. It didn’t last long enough for her to be big enough to challenge her aggressors. If it comes down to it though and her fight response does manage to beat out her flight response, it’ll be a matter of what is nearest at hand.
Appearance: She has very good posture, gained from catholic strictness of ladylike behavior and extra tutoring on poetry recitals. Despite this she almost never looks someone in the eyes. She tends to let her arms hang at her side and when she walks she takes small steps with most of her weight rested on the balls of her feet. When she sits she will usually cross her feet at the ankles. When she wears her scarf she will tuck her chin down into it and watch the ground as she walks. When it is warm or she otherwise doesn’t have her scarf on, she carries her chin high and her eyes low.
Personality: Demure is close but not quite the right word to describe Victoria’s behavior. Demure implies a level of composure that Victoria can fake for short periods of time, but not sustain. Meek is a hell of a lot closer. The problem is it extends to the point that if it continues it may advance to the point of being full-blown Agorophobia. It’s not there yet, but the potential for it is most certainly present. She prefers to follow orders at work and save her creativity for her quiet enjoyment at home. If there is one way in which she displays courage it is in her great compassion. She is willing to open her heart to almost anyone, to trust before suspect and this has been both an asset and weakness.
Special skills: Poetry. When given time to think things through, Victoria is very good with words. She has some basic skills with a piano from afternoons spent with the church organist as a preteen. Her private education means she reads and writes German and Latin in addition to her native English. She’s studying Spanish for the enjoyment of the crispness of words.
Weaknesses: Although her stamina and physical strength have improved with work, she is very prone to illness. In about eight years she’ll begin to notice that she is going deaf. No alcohol tolerance whatsoever. One drink and she’s hammered.
Fears: Afraid of speaking in public, or addressing authority figures or service people
Likes: Beethoven, Peppermint, visiting her grandmother in Deleware (can’t afford to do this anymore), Luke 19:1-10 (the story of Zacchaeus)
Dislikes: fog, coconut, fire and brimstone sermons,
History:
Victoria attended a private Catholic school until the age of seven, when the local truancy agent forced her parents to transfer her to a public school under threat of legal action. During her time there she was bullied by older queens for a brief but memorable period of a few months her first year there.
Her parents’ relationship had been rocky, but being Catholic, divorce was not an option. So they kept things together in front of Victoria and slept separately. Victoria had no idea that this was going on
Her father was an attorney although a rather unsuccessful one. . When he died in 1923, the mother believed the suicide explanation given by the authorities. It fit his behavior and psychology and what she knew of him. His partner however believed that Mr. Duetermann may have been mixed up in mob business and had that run afoul on him. However, as he had no way of proving it he’s kept that opinion to himself.
While her mother has been able to generate some income by renting out the upstairs room, Victoria has been trying to work on the side of her studies. Her grades are suffering because of it and although before her father’s death there had been a slight hope for a college education (sustained by scholarships and loans) that chance has been snuffed out. ((Facing this fact will come up in roleplay.))
Love Interest: Old faded childhood crush on Mistofelees. Some months into her first year at public school, shortly after the bullying had finally turned violent, he encountered her being bullied. He stepped in, completely enraged and put a stop to it. She’s since seen him around town and managed to build up this idealized version of him in her mind. ((Looking to mature her by allowing her to see Misto outside that idolization and realize that it isn’t fair to either of them to hold him on that pillar))
