Ricky couldn't claim to have slept well the night before at all, and even where he was currently, curled up on the couch in the Police Commissioner's apartment, he couldn't shake the chills that ran down his spine once in a while. He had moved out of his family's residence a few days prior, and had started to grow accustomed to a new semi-routine. Turning a page of the book he was reading--Sonya had several the kit had never seen before--Ricky's ears swiveled, never still. Between the shadow that slipped through the edges of his dreams and the murder he knew had happened just the other day, the kit was on edge, his tail twisting next to him on the couch.

Unlocking the door, Sonya strolled into his apartment, glancing around. "Ricky?" he called out, still trying to get used to coming home to anyone else there.

The small tabby looked up, snapping the book shut, "In here, sir."

Sonya leaned against the door frame with a small frown. "Sir?" he asked, one ear tilting back.

"Sorry. Sonya," Ricky corrected. Though he didn't use it much, the more formal 'sir' was something he'd been raised to use toward any tom not his brothers who was older than he was, or at least to use when in their presence.
