Mistoffelees glanced around the speakeasy, somewhat glad it was dark enough that not everyone was going to be eyeing him in particular--of course if anycat did recognize him they might not really think of it, or assume he was just like every other person, despite the amount of money currently in his pockets.
He glanced back at Coricopat, offering him a faint smile. "Not going to drag out the nail file here are you?"

Coricopat smiled at him, "Special for the occasion I left it at the hotel tonight. I figured it was hardly appropriate on Valentine's day."

Mistoffelees offered him a faint smile. "Well, so long as we don't actually look like we're on a date here," he said, feeling the jazz music start to pull at him. He had missed dancing recently.

"The best way to show that may be for you to go for a dance. But perhaps a drink first?" Coricopat offered.

"A drink," Mistoffelees agreed and laughed. "Or maybe half a one," his paw brushed Coricopat's in the dark. "Dancing with others or not, I am here for you."

The mottled tom offered him a gentle smile at that, "I'm glad to hear it. If you find a table I'll see about the drinks?"

Nodding, Mistoffelees weaved through the floor, unable to stop himself from moving in time to the music as he went.

Smiling faintly, Coricopat turned to the bar to order something for himself and a watered down one for Mistoffelees.

Victoria set her notebook down. Another week of visits and she might be able to call this barstool her regular spot. She'd spotted Alonzo as she came in. It had still been early in the evening and the crowd had been rather thin then. She was fairly certain he'd spotted her in her booth by now, and she looked forward to when he went on break and they could talk. As she looked around the room, she spotted Mistoffelees and his friend the ADA arriving. She already had a small martini in her, and as she hadn't eaten since this morning, she could feel it having it's alcoholic effects. She didn't mind much though. She hopped down off her barstool, surrendering it to the Valentines Day crowd and slipped her way to them.
"Mistoffelees?" She said, once she broke through a gap to stand before him. "Hi." Her smile was bright, for there were so many people enjoying themselves, she found it was hard to think of her own troubles.

He glanced down, offering her a surprised but happy smile. "Victoria! I didn't really expect to see you here."

Coricopat turned from the bar and wove his way through the crowd, seeking Mistoffelees. He hesitated when he saw him talking to a pretty young--oh that was Victoria, or at least he thought that was her name. Pausing for a moment longer he finally made his way over to them, offering Mistoffelees the drink in his paw.

"H-how have you been?" She asked Mistoffelees. She'd lost track of his friend in the crowd, but she was so pleased to see Mistoffelees again she barely noticed he'd left. "It's been an awful long time."

"It has been a long time," Mistoffelees agreed with a smile and turned that smile promptly on Coricopat as the other approached, taking the drink and trying not to lean too close. "Things have been... as well as expected. How have you been?"

The mottled tom watched the two quietly, sipping at his own drink. It...was what he should have expected when they decided on the Chrysalis, but it didn't mean he was entirely pleased.

"Not... terribly good ac-ac-actually." She said, her smile dimming, "B-b-but I'm-I'm managing." She turned to share her smile with the third in the group, "And it's g-good to see you as well, Mr. Zimmerman." Alcohol and occasional compliments from other patrons on her smile had been doing a good job, lately, of getting her talking even through the stutter.
