Griddlebone exited the bedroom, smoothing down her blue dress. She paused at the doorway, her gaze moving to where her husband was. Drawing a deep breath she made her way purposefully over, "Mac?"

"Yeah?" he rumbled, still bent over the desk and scribbling at something that might have once been a map before he got ahold of it.

"Gan' business," he replied, voice a little low and short as he tilted the map, considering the color he'd scribbled over a section and scowling.

Her ears flickered slightly at the tone, "You got up awfully early this morning."

His shoulders tensed slightly but he shrugged, the rolling motion disguising it. "Couldn't sleep."

Grids' gaze swept over him and she leaned against the end of the desk, out of the way of what he was working on, "Mac, is something wrong?"

She reached out to brush a piece of fur off of his shoulder, considering him, "You're sure?"

"Yeah," he said, not quite flinching from the touch, but moving back slightly. "Everything's just fine. Except the morons that walk the streets of my city."

She opened her mouth to make a couple of offers, but finally nodded, her ears tilting back, "Alright. I'm going out for a couple of hours, I'll be back soon enough."
