Coricopat arrived at the restaurant promptly at 11:30. He scanned the patrons already there and frowned when a certain young socialite was nowhere to be seen. He let the host know that he needed a table for two and was shown to a relatively private table to wait for the cat who was due to join him.

Running unfashionably late, Mistoffelees slid into the table. He was not quite as put together as usual, hair not slicked back properly and tie not entirely straight. "I'm so sorry I'm late," he said, pulling his vest back down from how quickly he'd moved.

The ADA glanced at the clock, "Quite. What kept you?"

"Sleep, I'm sorry to say," he replied. "It's not very exciting, over all."

That earned a bit of a worried frown, "Did you not sleep well last night?"

"No," the smaller tom said, glancing down at the menu to avoid the other's gaze.

That earned a small frown. Coricopat set his menu aside, having already had plenty of time to decide, "What happened?"

"Well, it certainly started with paperwork," Mistoffelees replied, shoulders hunching as he still refused to meet the other's eyes. "I just, two cats came in out of the rain... at a rather ungodly hour."

"I think I'm advertising for new staff as soon as I get in tonight," Mistoffelees replied, ear twitching but he didn't look up from the menu.

Coricopat glanced at the ear, "You're picking up my nervous twitches. What aren't you saying?"

"I have my own nervous ticks!" the black tom protested, finally looking up. "But alright, yes. One of them collapsed bleeding on my floor from an old wound and I called Cohen and ended up with them at the hospital for a while."

"An old wound? It hadn't been properly treated?" The mottled tom frowned, considering the possible reasons for that.

"Several days old and no, it had not," he replied, looking down again.

That earned a long silence before the taller tom nodded, "I see. And you said you were at the hospital with them?"
