Lou held up a paw to stop him, "Take the time you need. Lord knows if I wasn't leading the band and managing this here place I'd walk about half of the queens here home just to make sure they get there safe. Don't worry about it. Get back when you can."

Victoria looked back when she heard the door creak. With the streetlamp behind her, her headfur caught the orange light and reflected it about her head. "D-d-did he say- I mean, is it okay?" She asked, seeing Alonzo.

"Yeah, it's fine," Alonzo nodded. "I mean, I think he implied I could take all the time I needed, as long as I even got back tomorrow night so it's no issue, here," he added, draping his coat around her shoulders.

Victoria shrugged, pulling the coat folded closed to trap the pocket of warmth as close to herself as she could. "Thank you." She said, smiling. It wasn't a very large smile but, for one of the first times that night, it was sincere.
